I got a brilliant or crazy idea. Maybe both. I have some remaining vacation days coming up. I'll have August 28-31 off.
I'm thinking of doing a biking trip from Halifax to Lunenburg. Google Maps says is takes about 6 hours to get there via the biking trails.

I could leave early Saturday (28th) and probably be there by early afternoon. I'd pace myself, stop at places along the way and "refuel." Then spend Sunday/Monday in Lunenburg, do some touristy things (I like doing touristy things), and bike back Tuesday.

I've never done a big ride like this before, but I feel I'm in shape enough for the task. It's too bad I don't know anyone who could join me. I don't really know any cyclists in my area. If I was in a relationship, it's the kind of thing I'd love for someone to join me on.

This is all weather pending, of course. We've seen a lot of rain this season.

Still, the more I think about it, the more I'm thinking it'd be fun. I've never been to Lunenburg, so it might be a lot of fun.

And since I wrote this out on Facebook, I booked a room at the Wheelhouse Motel. So looks like it's game on for this crazy idea.
Lunenburg is gorgeous!! I think this is a great idea!

I can raise my left eyebrow, or both eyebrows, but not the right eyebrow by itself.

I can wiggle my right ear, or both ears, but not the left ear by itself.

The things you discover while waiting for a university networking department to get off their ass and finish their job.
You're probably right-handed. I mean, balance of probabilities, most people are. But! Did you know that the left side of your brain controls the right side of your body, but the left side of your face? And vice versa. The nerves 'cross over' in your neck. So typically people with better motor control in their right hand have more control of the left side of their face.

Doesn't explain your ear, though. Also if you're left-handed it doesn't explain anything.

I can SORT of wiggle it by itself, because by "wiggle" what I mean is I can tense the muscles at the back of my head which raises the ear (and also pulls my hairline back a good half inch).... so what I can do, is I can "wiggle" an ear by tensing and relaxing those muscles. I can tense JUST the right hand muscles, or both left and right... so to "wiggle" just my left ear, I tense BOTH, then relax-and-re-tense the left one. But it's exhausting and sometimes makes my neck hurt.

Oh, but yeah, I am right handed.

And I can kind of "pretend" to raise just my right eyebrow by sending the "raise both eyebrows" impulse and then, for lack of a better description, sending a stronger "squint my left eye" signal which overpowers the "raise both eyebrows" signal in my left eyebrow, thus technically moving my right eyebrow higher than my left but also making me look like I just got poked in the balls.

I spent ages trying to raise my right eyebrow as much as my left, and I am okay at it now, but the amount of concentration makes me look I'm having a really difficult poo.

I can SORT of wiggle it by itself, ...
So you can wiggle it, just a little bit?

I've always been able to raise the right eyebrow. For no reason other than stubbornness, in high school I trained myself to raise the other eyebrow on its own by holding the right one in place while looking in a mirror and raising the left one. The only purpose it has ever served was afforded to me only once, when my wife told me not to raise that eyebrow at her, so I raised the other one at her.

Worth it.

I can't wiggle my ears. I can't gleek. I can't raise a single eyebrow.

But I can do amazing things with my tongue. :unibrow:

my son can do that thing where you make a clover with your tongue as shown by this random google image search

I can wiggle my ears & do the tongue thing. Also when I was younger & more flexible I could reach over my shoulder with my right hand & bring my left hand up by the small of my back & clasp my hands behind my back. Were I a woman I could have zipped up my own dresses.

We really are a bunch of freaks aren't we?

Quick question to the ladies of the forum and possibly some of the guys: How often can you tell when someone's checking out your butt? Do you have a sixth sense for that? Does it come with experience? Or are you generally blissfully unaware that people are looking at your tushy?

I ask because as far as I know no one's ever checked out my butt so I have no frame of reference.

I would happily donate to a crowdfunding campaign for ass implants to give you a Kardashian booty so you can experience people checking out your butt.

The Little Caesar's Hot-n-Ready Pizza is... hot-n-ready. You get what you pay for. The other stuff? Like the pretzel crust and bacon-wrapped deep dish? Delicious. If you want a decent pizza from there, you just gotta order ahead and get something that isn't the Hot-N-Ready.

We are but one scant step removed from loaves of piping hot pepperoni and cheese.

I believe this is called stromboli.

The last time I had Little Cesar's was roughly 7 years ago, and maybe because it was up in Vermont? But it was waaaaay to greasy and salty while managing to be kinda bland. I haven't seen one around here in a long time, but I'm generally not a fan of chain pizzas.

Hush, you. It can be done and be very tasty too.
I second this. It's all about ingredients. I have a recipe for Heart-Healthy Chili, and while the chili purests in this forum would object (don't @ me), my husband and son love it when it make it. It is really yummy.
