I am still pissed off about the Red Cross calling my cellphone nearly every other day that I won't ever give them blood again. I might donate to another agency, but they won't be getting my contact info.

I don't read really donate as much as I think I should, but I'm also AB-, so not too many people are missing out there.

I'll bet you could make anything into a movie trailer with some fast cuts with in-out fades and the Inception WAAAAAAANG.

I have O+ blood, so roughly half of all blood types would love my blood (I don't actually know the ratio of positive to negative bloodtypes), but I also can't donate blood.

Not because they won't take it, but because I hate needles and I'm not altruistic. I need my blood, you guys... it carries oxygen to my organs.

I can't donate due to my nephropathy.

Also, @AshburnerX apparently waters down his blood before donating it. You, sir, are the crooked bartender of the blood drive world, and the fact that your blood apparently gets thicker to the point the flow is significantly impacted requires me to recommend you get that shit checked out.

It's actually not a real issue. I just tend to dehydrate myself because I tend to hyper focus on school work/gaming, so I have to consciously hyper hydrate in the days before I donate. Drinking lots of water just helps me get back to where I'm supposed to be.

I donated once (I'm o+ btw) it was horrible and I threw up.
I feel ya. I'd like to donate but when I donated it was so horrible that I never want to go through it again. After donating and sitting for 40 or so minutes I stood up to get a cup of water and made it about 5 steps before I collapsed. It felt like the blood just rushed straight down and I lost control of my body as it rushed down starting with my eyes going black so I couldn't see, my ears, my mouth, then my arms and finally my legs causing me to just fall. The entire day I couldn't eat and felt like I was going to throw up everytime I tried and my arm they took it from was near useless. I'm perfectly fine giving up the 3 vials for blood tests but I guess losing that much blood was just too much.

I'm heading off to the army now!

If cross-strait tensions erupt into hostilities this week and I end up giving my life for my country, then I ask that everyone please make at least one dick joke in my honor.

I've given multiple times, and each time when we are through they treat me like I'm going to fall and shatter on the floor at any moment. To date I have never felt different after giving blood than I did beforehand, I've never had that lightheaded gimme-a-cookie-right-now feeling that people talk about.
On the other hand, I've fallen through a glass window after getting up too fast in the morning, so I know it's not impossible for it to happen to me, and so I let the attendants do their thing.

If you don't make it back, I'll make sure that whenever I watch porn, I'll think of you.

Wait damnit.
