I keep seeing all of those commercials about SportClips, where guys can go and get haircuts by cute girls while you watch sports. I see these commercials and think, "Do they think nobody with glasses gets their hair cut?" I couldn't give two shits about what's on TV or what the women look like when I'm getting my hair cut - I can't SEE ANY OF IT! Same with when I'm swimming. My wife thinks I'm looking at all the girls in their bathing suits, but blurs just aren't that sexy to me.

I need Lasik.

Unfortunately, theres a good chance you're too old for it (no jokes). When I had it done, the doctor said that its not a great success rate once you get to 40.

I tend to stick with barbers that understand that I can't see a damn thing. They get good tips, like $3 for a great cut.

I also can't see a thing when I get my hair cut, and with nothing to keep my attention I usually end up nodding off. Which is not conducive to getting a good haircut.

Also, as far as those "Hooters for Haircuts" places go, at the one I usually go to you have to check in on a computer. When you're doing it, theres a screen that displays all of the haircutters (with pictures) and you can select which one you want to cut your hair. You can also just choose "next available." Every time I go, I just imagine how creepy it'd be if you're one of the haircutters and the person is actually willing to wait longer just so he can have a more attractive person give him a haircut.

Some of the recent news on LASIK makes me glad I never got it. There's a lot of recent information coming to light that it's not as safe as previously believed, partly because some side effects were being intentionally misclassified as symptoms to inflate the success rate. New reports are saying as many as 10% of patients suffer some permanent sometimes debilitating effects. 90% sounds great but 10% is a fairly high failure rate for an elective procedure being marketed as safe. The number of LASIK related suicides is apparently significant, too.

I was forced to go to a mall once for a haircut and the person kept shoving her tits in my face while struggling with a brush cut. And it cost 4x as much.

I almost always get my hair cut at sport clips. But the girls there don't wear swimsuits and are good at what they do, so I don't know what you guys are grousing about. Also the TV being on means I don't have to pretend to be interested in conversation.

I don't see the point.
I went to a Hooters once for lunch to see what the fuss was about.
The food's not too bad.
...that was my actual takeaway from my visit.

Yes, food takeaway is ok, waiter takeaway not so much. We're all glad you didn't bring them home.

Just changed my party affiliation in Nebraska. I went from Independent to Democrat. The ONLY reason I did this was to be able to vote for Bernie in the primary. If you are not part of a party in Nebraska you can't vote in a primary.

After the primary I can change it back. Feelin' the Bern!

The ONLY problem with Bernie is that, if it were to actually come down to Bernie vs Trump, sadly, I expect Trump to win.

Aside from the fact that Trump will never win the primary, he'd have no chance in hell of winning the general election over a pet rock, let alone an opponent.

This is sort of why a lot of the liberal folks are kind of sighing over this election. Hillary could win at the national level against a Republican, but they are terrified that Bernie doesn't have the chops to deal with what should be a slam dunk election.

Personally, I'm believing in Bernie more and more. He's pulling the crowds... they have to find bigger venues in almost every town because people are traveling miles to see his speeches. He's clearly got the support to win the nomination at least.

Frankly, Bernie vs Hillary would make for a more interesting general election - and one more worth going to the polls over - than Hillary vs literally anyone running on the Republican side. Speaking as a European, of course.

People keep telling me that, but he's leading in like every poll.
He has 24% of the public support, ZERO endorsements (seriously, no one of importance is backing him, that's basically unheard of), and over 50% of Republicans say they wouldn't vote for him in the primary.

Leading a poll among 11 candidates says very little about where the chips will fall when things will actually matter.

Another example of how instant runoff voting would be 10x better than party primaries. But, as is pointed out every time I bring it up, it won't happen because the people who would have to make the changes to implement it keep their power based on the party system.

Pretty much every other system I've read about is better than this winner-takes-all single-vote thing. I'd love to see what a [insert random Euro country here] parliamentary system would do to the U.S.' political environment.

Big huge differences between some of them; you'd be amazed. Let alone the UK, which is a barely better system than the US. Quite a few countries have such a silly system of granting the biggest party a supermajority that it sucks too.

And of course, the Belgian system doesn't work either. Frankly, the most stable and best working government is an enlightened tyranny.

The one nice thing about the US system is that you don't see nazis getting seats in congress.
That doesn't mean they can't. After all, we've had Klansmen in congress. It's a system that only works as well as the people who vote in it. If National Socialism were actually to ever grow enough to become a cultural factor here, you can bet you'd see a Nazi congressman.

"Liberty can no more exist without virtue and independence, than the body can live and move without a soul. When these are gone, and the popular branch of the constitution is become dependent on the minister, as it is in England, or cut off, as it is in America, all other forms of the constitution may remain; but if you look for liberty, you will grope in vain; and the freedom of the press, instead of promoting the cause of liberty, will but hasten its destruction, as the best cordials taken by patients in some distempers become the most rancid and corrosive poisons." - John Adams

Besides, we already have "fascism with a smiley face" in most of the political left.
