In the case of the YouTube rewind, it is people just bitching that pewdipie was left off for being an unapologetic racist.

As far as I can tell with the halftime show, the original upload actually had sync delays so there is a real reason to re-upload.

It's the failures of any open online review system. The Godfather's IMDB rating still hasn't recovered from all the 1 star reviews it got in 2008 from dark knight fanboys trying to make it the #1 movie on the site.

I dunno, did you actually try watching it? It was some cringey awful shit. I don't think including the lord of the KinderKluxKlan would have mitigated anything.

My daughter (16) still thinks he's funny, and argues that at least when he's an asshole, he admits it and apologizes for being an asshole, even when he's not actually losing money on it or whatever, and she's pretty far from right wing, but who knows? Maybe she'll rebel against me and become ultra-conservative.

Actual random crap: If you've never heard Blue Jam, and you've got a morbid, surreal sense of humor like mine, try it. I didn't like the TV show as much, but two episodes in I'm loving the radio show. Pretty good music too. Also, actually free online.

That'd mean more if it didn't keep happening. I'm not gonna suggest that it's realistic for an adult to talk a teenager out of liking what they like, but pewdipie is pretty clearly shit. Your daughter might be smart/good enough not to fall for it but others won't be.

Also, take a couple of deep breaths maybe. Last I checked, I wasn't an enemy of yours, or anyone else's around here, and generally avoid commenting on anything even remotely political, because certain forum members quickly attack you as if you've personally taken up a hosting gig on Fox News/MSNBC if you dare disagree or defend someone they've decided they don't like.

Anyway, like I came in here to say, Blue Jam. It's interesting.

I'm the last person to defend Pewdiepie about anything, but that sounds less like pushing an alt-right agenda and more like garden variety 4-chan nihilist misanthropy.

Actually it was getting people on Fivrr to do terrible things for very little cash. So I think the furor over it was a bit much. I mean, I don't think it's funny and I don't really believe his aim, but there are far worse things he could have done. Had he posted BEFORE he did it that he was trying to prove a point I'd be completely on his side. As it is, his "aim" seems more like an excuse than anything.

I have an ethical conundrum (though probably the government will resolve it whether I like it or not). Here you file for unemployment every two weeks, but you enter the income you got on a weekly basis. I did this, and since I'm now employed, I was denied (as expected) for one week and paid for the other. That's the official statement I got. I have a record of it. Okay, but they direct deposited money for both weeks. I'm guessing a human actually hits the direct deposit button, and they accidentally paid me for both weeks. The unemployment office is nearly impossible to contact. They require phone calls, and for the last month, every time I call, I get the message that the system is so busy they cannot even put me on hold. So I have no easy way to give this money back.

They will send you a letter telling you you have to pay them back with instructions on how to do it. Happened to my wife.

I periodically get automated e-mails from a guy over at Premiere radio networks named Martin Wagmaister, only their e-mail does that thing where it puts Lastname-comma-firstname, so every time I get mail from him it says it is from WAGMAISTER MARTIN and it just sounds so much like a hip hop dog on a kid's show.
