I have a sales job now. It's software, but I go to door to door anyway just for the experience. Someone clicking on an unsubscribe link just doesn't give me the same level of pathological satisfaction, y'know?
This happens too regularly to be people making the same "mistake" over and over. The continual churn of companies that get built-up by allowing pornography, profiting especially from independent creators, and then shifting away as soon as they get big enough, makes me wonder if this really is the blunder it appears to be. My assumption is that someone in the financial or porn industry benefits heavily from this churn and that it's completely intentional that Fark, College Humor, Tumblr, Imgur, Patreon, OnlyFans, etc. did this. My only surprise is that Twitter and Reddit have never tried to completely get rid of adult content.
There are probably people around that will catch them for you. Facebook might have a page you can post to, and they’ll come get them for free if they settle by your house.

Today, during my translation editing, I came across a software company in China that's literally named "Fast".
I was curious if it was possible to find this company by searching for "Fast software". To my surprise, it appears there are lots of software companies named Fast.
Tape drive Commodore 64s were awesome when I was a kid! We could never run the biathlon on Winter Games as it took too long to load.
My son was being lippy one day and said something like “Grandma is nice. She would have made sure that you had a good cell phone!!” Stomp stomp. I near fell over I laughed so hard. I don’t think he believed me when I told him that cell phones weren’t a thing until I was an adult. We shared one family land line. The horror!

So true, but I thought it was older than that. It’s a brain fart kind of day.
I had an argument on Reddit maybe about a year ago, where some kid was saying that people "could have just used wikipedia" to find out some information--in the 80's. I had to school him that the web didn't even exist as a widely adopted consumer product until the mid-90's (for certain definitions of "widely") and Wikipedia didn't come until about 5 years later. This kid was assuming because he grew up in a world that always had wikipedia and the internet that everyone must have.
