Lol. I was looking for Elton John pics and I came across this one and was reminded of that old thread:

Yup. Still looks like a penis!

Slowly sipping spiced cider soothes my soul. Seeking satiety, surely said scribe shall savor short slurps of sweet cinnamon seasoning.

When somebody first acknowledges the man behind the curtain, it's fascinating how much of his handiwork you can see. I was just informed that for about the last month, various friends have been trying to prod me into asking a particular girl out. I, i n all my manliness, caught exactly no hints, and actually was under the impression for a short while that the girl in question didn't even like me.

Someone finally just spilled the beans verbally, and now the last month makes a lot more sense. Random calls to go out for coffee, dropped hints about stargazing, conversations about missed relationship opportunities, and more.

A project in which we are required to draw out a family tree and detail any illnesses in our family next to the names of the family member. How are they allowed to assign this? Seems a bit inappropriate to me.

Dare I even ask the purpose of this project?
This is the same Kinesiology teacher I was complaining about a few weeks back. The purpose is to track diseases in our family and be aware of what we could also get. I don't see why she has to be a part of that process, that's all.

Yeah, I wouldn't submit that completely.

Perhaps I'd do the family tree thing, but use codes for diseases. Everyone who suffered breast cancer, for example, would be named "Princess of Wales" and everyone with heart troubles would be "Dark Lord of Mordor"

I would just use false names if I were you. A little private rebellion, and keeping the confidentiality of your family.

Make sure one is blatantly obvious though.

I'd just do a family tree and omit all diseases. At the bottom, just write that your bloodline is perfection.

My sister and I actually visited today, and she said I should event a bunch of diseases and look at her like she's stupid when she doesn't know what they are. I'm not using my relatives' names, and I'm omitting some illnesses that I know certain people would want omitted.

My mother gave me a LIST of what my 83-year-old grandpa's been through. You'd never know it by looking at him. He's one resilient dude.

That project seems awesome, but yeah using family members seems a little weird.

Your teacher should have given each student a set of made up data. Including diseases that went unnoticed when they were introduced to the family. I think that would have been better since she knows what the outcome should be and students wouldn't have to be concerned about revealing private history.

I think my upstairs neighbor is jamin' out to dark side of the moon.

There's a short story Neil Gaiman wrote for an entry in a book about fake diseases. It involves the person writing up the entries for diseases slowly going nuts and inventing new diseases and symptoms. Slowly over the course of the story it becomes obvious that the author has that particular disease as the entry gets more and more surreal. I can't remember what it is called right now, but that may be funny to insert. I'll see if I can look it up.

Edit: Short story is title "Diseasemaker's Croup" The disease may be called the same. You can find it in "Fragile Things"

Yeah, and honestly, I'd probably be more willing to just do that damn thing and not complain if I liked her.

I actually had fun making these in elementary school, but they had nothing to do with medical backgrounds.
