WHAT... okay, I'm not sure this is a game for people like me whose first Zelda was Ocarina of Time.
So EA is rebooting Dungeon Keeper. Couple negatives...
It's EA.
It's going to be an iOS app game.
It's going to be free to play, meaning in-app purchases.
Peter Molyneux is not involved.
Digging now takes a full minute per patch of dirt.
I'd have settled for a port.
So, they're reskinning Farmville as DK? Nice for them, I'll gladly just ignore its existence. So EA is rebooting Dungeon Keeper. Couple negatives...

Even with bad reviews, I'll be picking this up when it goes on sale. Heavy Rain was one of my favorite games of all times.Apparently there was a mistake at the end of the video and it's being edited.
Here's the updated vid.
I wonder if it will still use bizarro dream logic.Gamespot gave it a 9.0, so it's not universally hated. In fact, they're known for doing lower scores many times.
In the meantime, one of my favourite games of all time is being remake...
GABRIEL KNIGHT: SINS OF THE FATHER
http://www.gamespot.com/news/jane-jensen-remaking-gabriel-knight-sins-of-the-fathers-6415442
And I'm out.It will be presented with 2048x1536 3D graphics, replacing the original's 640x480 pixel art.
I don't know what you mean.I wonder if it will still use bizarro dream logic.
Most adventure games operate not on real world, real thinking logic, but on that of the person who created the game (this is of course, natural, since they made the game). You're more playing profiler to the way the designer thinks than using actual logic when solving puzzles in these games. Jane Jensen is one of the most egregious examples of this, especially with Gabriel Knight 3's infamous fake ID puzzle.I don't know what you mean.
Based on this post I found this article. It illustrates your point nicely. Most adventure games operate not on real world, real thinking logic, but on that of the person who created the game (this is of course, natural, since they made the game). Most good adventure games give you clues to the puzzles, though, which you find through investigating. This could be a clue when you look at the item in your inventory, a piece of dialogue, etc. I don't recall Sins of the Father having any "dream logic" puzzles that you had to think of on your own. And you can't blame GK3's faults on its predecessors. I've heard that was a terrible game all around. Most adventure games operate not on real world, real thinking logic, but on that of the person who created the game (this is of course, natural, since they made the game). All puzzle games use dream logic, even the best ones. Grim Fandango, for example, is held up as the best adventure game of all time and it had some real fucking bananas puzzles that ended up with people just using everything on everyone. Most good adventure games give you clues to the puzzles, though, which you find through investigating. But I can already play FF6 on my android phone. There's like a billion SNES emulators out there for it.All puzzle games use dream logic, even the best ones. Also,
Final Fantasy 6 is getting remade for iOS and Android devices. Here's an example of how FUCKING AWESOME Final Fantasy 5 looked:
Also, it'll probably cost 40 bucks.
Fuck Square.....get your life together.
I dunno why but those character models are off-putting.All puzzle games use dream logic, even the best ones. Grim Fandango, for example, is held up as the best adventure game of all time and it had some real fucking bananas puzzles that ended up with people just using everything on everyone.

To me it's that they're on a 3d landscape, but the perspective is all off. The characters are all standing next to each other, but the landscape makes them look like they should be a mile apart. I can't stand it.I dunno why but those character models are off-putting.
YUP!Wow, Square can't help being screw-ups these days.
Sounds like Nick's prom nightpeople just using everything on everyone.
My main concern with this is that there is no talk of how profits would be split. Also, why the hell aren't they giving people access to some Square stuff? I can see protecting Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, but why not let folks take on stuff like Vagrant Story? They certainly aren't interested in developing it anymore.
I'm waiting for a new Final Fantasy Tactics game that isn't a shitty iOS rip-off of Suikoden's battle system. My main concern with this is that there is no talk of how profits would be split. Though really, Vagrant Story is technically a Final Fantasy title anyway since it's part of the Ivalice Alliance universe. It might not be the best example.
So people will give Square a good idea, which they can go fuck up.
