What else would I do with it? I can't shoot after using it until it runs out. You're wasting the Flash Stopper on... instead of using it...
Oh you poor bastard.
Megaman II: It is taking all my self-discipline not to make a restore point midway through the Quickman level. No wonder they give you two extra lives prior. I don't know how anyone could do this without beating Flashman first, and my time freeze still runs out before I get past the instant kill barriers.
This game is fantastic. There's actually a bit of strategy and thought you have put into managing your powers, which levels you do, and that's on top of the platforming/shooting. That they let you go back to stage select after you run out of lives, and still remembers which stages you finished, is a relief. I'm impressed to the level I was impressed upon first playing the NES Zelda game a few months ago. I can't believe there were so many good games on the NES that I could've been playing and instead I just played and replayed Godzilla: Monster of Monsters and Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt over and over while waiting for the day my parents would get me a Sega Genesis so I could play Sonic 2. Of course the Genesis days were good too, but I missing out, and with no internet back then, I had no idea I was missing out.
Well, the main issue is that you run the risk, as you've experienced, of running out before passing the insta-kill barriers or even reaching Quickman. I advise picking up any of the energy replenishers that you can along the way. If you manage to make it to Quickman with at least some Flash Stopper, you can put a good dent into his health. Otherwise, Air Shooter could make for a good "spray and pray" approach. What else would I do with it? I can't shoot after using it until it runs out.
... right?
It is possible to make it down without using the timestopper. You have to kind of plan your fall ahead of time and not go for any powerups. If you can do that, it makes the fight with Quickman much easier because a full timestopper discharge will take off half his health. What else would I do with it? Didn't know it could damage him. Okay, I'll try to get past the lasers on my own next attempt. It is possible to make it down without using the timestopper. Ah, glorious Soviet aircraft, fuelled by vodka, crafted from finest of pure Stalinwood, stronkest in world, comrade.Man, War Thunder is pretty fun... but jeez oh pete do the developers favor Russia. It's crazy how much the russian planes outperform their counterparts, take more damage and deal more as well, when historically russians were stuck in horrible planes until the Jet age/vietnam era. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the Chiaka, which tears everything else in tier 1 and 2 to shreds almost instantly.
I'm sure you figured it out already, but Metal Blade is pretty OP through the whole game, to the point you might not even want to use it too much. You get like 3 blades per single bar of energy, and it generally always does more damage than your Buster. If I remember right you can even control the direction it fires by holding up/down/etc on the d-pad.I've spent 11 hours fusing demons solely to beat three bosses. While I did beat them, I'm not sure this was for the best.
In other news, Quickman's boomerang kicks the crap out of the Woodman level; I'm glad I had Airman's weapon for the Woodman himself. Three levels to go before Dr. Wiley.
And in the later ones you could use some bosses' powers to alter the course you took through the stage. The X series really did come up with some cool stuff. One of the things I loved about X was that some stages changed based on the order you kill the bosses.
By the time you get to X3 (which is where you should stop in the X line) you even get recurring bosses... that you can -kill- with the right weapon and thus change boss fights later in the game. One of the things I loved about X was that some stages changed based on the order you kill the bosses.
I dunno, the PS1 X games are fine, I'd ignore the story though as that's pretty awful. Just stop at like 5 or 6. Once Axel is introduced it all goes downhill (though I will admit Command Mission is a guilty pleasure).By the time you get to X3 (which is where you should stop in the X line) you even get recurring bosses... that you can -kill- with the right weapon and thus change boss fights later in the game.
Also, Zero. Zero fucking owns.
I haven't actually done Metalman yet. I would definitely jump right into MM3 then, personally I like it even more than 2.I haven't actually done Metalman yet. Order I've done so far is
Flashman
Airman
Bubbleman
Quickman
Woodman
I think I'll do another NES before X; otherwise I might not be interested in playing them.
I've played Awesomenauts pretty much since release with small breaks inbetween. I really wish it had a larger community (most of the League 1s all know each other on Twitch/Steam chat). It's the only MOBA I play and I love it.In the meantime, I tried out Awsomenauts today. It's a LOT of fun and very addictive. I was pleasantly surprised by how I enjoyed it. The only reason I installed it was for the Steam cards and I wound up digging it.
Not to mention he'll probably stab you and take all your money, man.I would definitely jump right into MM3 then, personally I like it even more than 2.
Just be ready for frustration in Magnet Man's stage. The sound of disappearing blocks will haunt your nightmares.
Did you get the "Too far" Achievement?Just finished South Park: The Stick of Truth. This game is just . . . WRONG! Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, WRONG!!!!!
. . . I need to play it again . . .
Nah, he'll just spill his spaghetti about Roll for a few minutes instead. I love that song, it's almost as creepy as this one.
