What are you playing?

I mean, the harem-building feature of the Luxury Suite is very nice, but more than that, it's actually a really nice house mod. It has all the amenities (bed, smithing/tempering/enchanting/alchemy/cooking stations, plenty of storage space, shrines to every Aedra, etc). There are two merchants, upgradable to three with a mini-quest, and while they all draw from the same merchant inventory, they have a big pile of gold on hand by default, which makes it easy to find someone to sell your loot to. And it synergizes well with other popular mods too. For example, the pools are water sources for primary needs mods, and there's a spell that instantly teleports you to the Luxury Suite, just in case you venture too far from shelter while using the Frostfall mod.

Seriously, it's great. Plus it's pretty.

I've been stealing my son's computer to play Dishonored 2, since my computer can't run it (it just barely meets minimum specs, so with all of the optimization problems there is basically no way). The stealth bits feel harder than the first, especially because the AI is smarter about following noise. This does mean that it's easier to lead them into traps though. I like that there's a stat board you can constantly look at, so you aren't surprised by a random spotting or death that you had no idea about at the end of the level, especially since there's no "Replay this level" option.

Watching Gas play My Summer Car. Uh...yeah. That was a thing. He had to go pick this drunk guy up and take him somewhere. When he got to the drunk guy, the guy fell down & wouldn't get up. I think he even pissed himself.

And then I pissed ON him. Got mad. Drove away. Got burned by the cops. Got in a wreck. Managed to right my van. Collided with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on an empty road and died. Went back to the crash site in my car, hooked it up to the van to tow it home. Lost a fender. Got home. Was about to start something else when I got a phone call to pump the septic tank of my closest neighbor. Easy money, right? Wrong! Everything went wrong that could have, up to and including the pump hose breaking off the truck and falling down the septic tank. So in my rage I drove the septic tank to the speed trap and dumped 3000L of liquid shit on the cops. They didn't seem to care, though the wiki led me to believe they should have. So fine. I punched out a cop. Then got hit by a hit-and-run driver and died.

Also I now see that Dave was talking in the chat window. I really need to figure out a solution so I can read that while I play.

Just go to your dashboard in twitch for the easy solution. If you have 2 monitors you can just have it open on the other. I'm not sure if the mobile dashboard shows chat or not.

I don't have a 2 monitor set up exactly right now, but I can probably rig one...

You could try the Twitch iPhone or Android apps, then just keep the chat open. There are other ways too, including ways to get it to stream in-game for you.

The Tropical Skyrim mod bogged down the game too much, so I uninstalled it. Turns out that since it changed the title screen, that meant losing the title screen (probably among other crucial assets) and now the game won't run at all, so I'm having to reinstall.

I'm officially part of the PC master race!

You don't have to fully reinstall. Just have steam check your file integrity, and it will download whatever you're missing.

Also, are you using Nexus Mod Manager? It can automate all of this, so instead of directly overriding core game files, it simply creates a new path to the new assets, and then reverts that when you tell it to uninstall.

You definitely, DEFINITELY need to be using the nexus mod manager. The steam workshop isn't as good.[DOUBLEPOST=1479232133,1479231959][/DOUBLEPOST]

What's really crazy is how EVERYTHING IS CLOSED ON SUNDAY. I wanted to get some body repairs! Nope, closed. Oh, fine, well maybe the car is good enough it will pass inspection. NOPE INSPECTION PLACE CLOSED.

WHY EVEN HAVE A SUNDAY IN THE GAME.

Also pumping a septic tank at 1 am is frustrating and dangerous. I had to navigate solely by the reflection of the sky off the top of the sewage so that I wouldn't fall in and drown. And yes, falling in and drowning in a septic tank is yet another one of the possible ways to die in this game.

I think I got the alignment worked out, but I need to just carry a 10mm wrench with me wherever I go because the damn doors keep popping off at the slightest impact.[DOUBLEPOST=1479232499][/DOUBLEPOST]

I think this is going to be the solution I use. I tried the twitch app last night while we played overwatch, and it seems to work ok. Also it makes it easier to change the "now playing" game before the broadcast, as the twitch-switcher plugin I'm using in OBS seems to steadfastly refuse to work.

So, a friend of mine convinced me to give Tom Clancy's: The Division another try. He assured me that they've made tons of improvements and there's a lot more to do in the game now.

So I tried it, and he is right, there is a lot more to do. And it's still all boring as fuck.

I don't understand what this game's problem is. Destiny was a giant turd when it released, and then they pulled a reaper of souls and fixed it with The Taken King. Now it's a great game, I still enjoy playing it today. The Division was a giant turd on launch, and Ubisoft has released even more boring DLC for it, and now it's a giant turd with underground levels that no one likes.

The core of the game is a loot game. You kill stuff to get loot to kill bigger stuff to get better loot. But the actual combat of the game is boring as hell. All of the guns feel the same, just with different numbers attached to them, all of the gear you physically equip looks exactly alike, just a new color of backpack or maybe new color of kneepads, and the cosmetic gear you find is just LL Bean's winter catalog. With the Tom Clancy brand attached to this, you would expect some matter of tactical military gameplay. But there isn't. Every enemy is a bullet sponge, with even the average mook requiring two full reloads to take down, even though he is literally just a random guy in a light winter jacket. The abilities you can unlock as you 'build' your character add a little bit, but they're on such long cooldowns that you'll use them once per battle and then it's just back to emptying your assault rifle into a random citizen of new york.

The thing about Destiny is that it was a visually beautiful game that played really, really well, but needed massive tweaks to the loot system, merchant, NPCs, and quite frankly to just offer more to do. And they've been doing that, particularly with the massive jump at The Taken King. The core of it was hampered by all the other things but it was made by people who understand that the object of a game is to enjoy playing it. Classes play differently and your particular play style will influence what weapons work best for you, as well as the situation.

The Division was made by people who don't understand fun. That's how they managed to make an MMO loot game where half your time is spent queueing up to push a button to get quests, and the rest of the time is spent using a wide variety of identical guns to kill identical baddies.

I used Nexus, problem was that instead of just deactivating the mod, or deactivating and then removing it, I just told Nexus to flat out remove it.

Didn't know about the steam repair; I would've actually gotten to play last night had I known.

After some playtesting, I've come to some unfortunate conclusions for my relationship with Skyrim on PC. I won't be able to run any visual enhancement mods. No storms, no texture improvements, etc. I can run the vanilla game on high settings and it's smooth, but throw in non-visual mods and I'm down to medium. Throw in visual mods and it chugs even at low settings. I've put up with games that chug before, but I'm not going to do it here.

It's still Skyrim and it's still fun. SkyUI is a subtle kind of amazing--you don't realize just how great it is until you're using it. Hotkeys are great, too. So overall I can get a smoother Skyrim experience on PC. Problem is that I really wanted to do some different kinds of stuff. My wife seems to be finding mods that are enhancing her whole experience, and maybe my problem is that I don't know what I want.

I did get Beasts of Tamriel and Alternate Start, so when my shipwreck dark elf was swimming in northern waters that should be safe from anything besides slaughterfish, I hear the attack music, hurry onto an ice flow, and turn around to find a friggin narwhal trying to beach itself on the ice to skewer me.

What are your system specs?

Man, still loving Tyranny. All of the characters are interesting. I'm always torn when I get a new party member because I don't want to drop any I have. Every single one of the Archons is really, really neat, especially when you get to gab their heads off and learn all about their perspectives. Obsidian still delivers in the writing department. I WISH other studios would put that much effort into their games.

This guy is your boss, the Archon of Law. A supremely powerful magic being obsessed with upholding his master's law.

A GTX 1060 3GB is probably the best 200 185 bucks you could spend on your computer right now. I got one and it's SOOO GOOOD.

Edit: wow, price dropped already.

$300 laptop that technically doesn't meet the minimum requirements for Skyrim according to Can You Run It but that turned out to be exaggerated.
Do you have a stronger desktop PC in the house? I'm still gaming often on my 2007 laptop because Steam in-home streaming is rad as hell.

Well, I finally was able to make my stupid joke character. It's not even funny, it's just kind of absurd. And an obscure historical reference.

Alright. This one needs a little explanation.

In the Star Wars EU, there's a species called the Miraluka, and they're almost completely human, except they have no eyes (just smoothed over sockets; they wear masks or other covers for it). They "see" by using The Force. As such, in SWTOR, they're a starting option for Jedi Knight and Jedi Consular. So I made a Jedi Consular, Rusala Arkhot (Named from characters is Super Troopers). Now, once you level a member of a species to level 50, they're unlocked for all classes, both Imperial and Republic.

As a result, I made a Mirulakan Imperial Agent. Now, the idea of a spy type that has no eyes is funny to start with. But one of the specialist classes is Sniper.

So yes, she will be a Sniper with *no eyes*.

The obscure historical reference? I named her Beliye Kolgotky, which is Russian for "White Tights". It's the name an urban legend in the Soviet / Russian military - packs of female Baltic snipers who wore white camouflage (hence "white tights") who specialized in shooting soldiers in the junk. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Tights

For those who have not rocketed any leagues, what's the difference?

--Patrick
Rocket League has you driving RC cars (with rocket boosters). Thus, there's no "sidestepping" and jumping involves piloting/thrust in 2-axis rotation. So the controls are actually a fair amount more difficult.

There's also more than one arena, and I hate the arena that isn't flat (has raised portions on the sides). The slope is JUST enough to make you lose contact with the ground, so turning while descending isn't a thing.

Rocket League. I tried to stream an awesome match where my team went 10 to 1 and dominated. And it recorded a black screen because I forgot to add Rocket League to OBS's capture.

So I do that, and go on to the worst shitstained losing streak ever. This sorry excuse for a 1-0 2v2 is the best I could muster before I called it quites for the night.

On a related note, I'm getting really tired of hearing the Eurotrash National Anthem chanted.
