What are you playing?

I hate the lightning fish more, but yes, every time I fought Lagiacrus, it was "please go on land, please go on land." Once I got Monster Hunter 4U and there were no more underwater battles, I knew I was never going back to 3 :p.
Oh crap! Who is the lightning fish if isn't Lagiacrus?

I'm going back and working on building a couple of different fire weapons to see if that helps. I'm not dying, I'm just keep timing out.

Divinity: Original Sin 2

I think I accidentally skipped about half of the third island by stumbling on a secret back door. Oh well, next playthrough I'll do things right.

I am still failing that fight against Lagiacrus. I don't die at all anymore, but I just don't seem to be able to do enough damage in the time I'm given. My memory is crappy, but I don't think I've ever timed out on a quest before. Lame.

Bring traps and tranq bombs. If you still aren't doing enough damage, but at least you're getting close, you can trap it, toss two tranq bombs at it, and wail on it. As a last resort.

Otherwise, a weapon that lets you keep after it, takes advantage of its weakness, anything to compensate that the water is between you and the monster more often than not.

Talking to you about this is making me want to jump back into Monster Hunter before World comes out.

Finished my first playthrough of Divinity: Original Sin 2. A god am I. I think I also accidentally skipped a pretty major side quest on the 4th island, but oh well. That's one of the things I like about this game: minimal hand-holding. If you're not observant enough to find your own way to the side quests, well, that's on you.

Overall, I liked the game a lot. It feels like there are a few rough edges that could use some patching, and the ending did leave lots of openings for sequels/DLC, but on the whole it was an engaging and entertaining experience.

Now, onto my next playthrough... trying to decide if I should go for a Lone Wolf murderhobo solo run, or to use the three companions I didn't use for my first playthrough...

Started playing Bayonetta 2 again. I can't believe I only played through this once, the year it came out. While I like the first game's narrative more, this one is my preference for gameplay (and no QTEs this time, thankfully). I've been a little bummed that I can't seem to get back into Breath of the Wild. I'll play for an hour, then lose interest, even though I was loving it half a year back. I just think I'm not in the mood for open world. Something structured like this is working out much better for me right now.

Finished my Civ 5 "Winter is Coming" playthrough as the Starks. I wiped out the Lannisters / Westerlands and the Martells / Dorne, took most of the Dothraki (though Daenerys struck the killing blow), and Stannis conquered Renly, leaving the remaining world powers as The Starks of The North, the Targaryens of Slaver's Bay/Essos, Stannis Baratheon of the Crownlands, and the Tullys of the Riverlands. The Tullys only survived because I was friendly with them for most of the playthrough and liberated their cities from the Dothraki and Dornish. Stannis wanted me to go to war with them but I declined, since I was moving my troops through his territory to attack Dorne.

It was a random map. I know some of the mods have a map of Westeros.

What’s World?

I’m working on new armour and I made a new weapon to try against him. I’ll give that a try. I always keep one of each trap and a stack of tranq bombs on me anyways, so I may as well give them a try here too. I have no idea if I’m close, but he certainly is looking bad by the end. His chest is all bashed up and he kind of flails in the water occasionally then pauses. It’s much easier to tell on land monsters.

Playing through Mario: Odyssey and I have to go with the general consensus that the more I played it, the more my enjoyment grew.

Picked up the expansion for X-Com 2 - War of the Chosen.

Haven't seen much yet - just got to the first mission with the new resistance fighters, but I'm liking what I've seen from various playthroughs.

Haven't pulled the trigger on Long War 2, yet... hell, I'm still working my way through X-COM: EW Long War, still!

I finished new donk, the ice place after, the beach place, and am doing stuff in the food place. Very descriptive, I know. Also New Donk City kicked so much ass.
I mostly was asking if you'd mastered the air-dive into hat jump yet and discovered that you can stay in the air for ludicrous amounts of time.

HAH-suck it Monokuma! Now onto the sequel...when I feel like paying 20 bucks for it, cos I all ready have a BUNCH of games I haven't beaten-AS WELL as other things I want to buy. EITHER WAY-fun game.

I have a Best Buy gift card that's enough for a brand new 3DS game. I can't get the new Pokemon game because it would be blasphemous to start playing before the kids do (I have three on pre-order at EB Games as Christmas gifts for us), so I'm pretty sure that I'm going to get one of the new Monster Hunter games. Either Generations or Stories. I'm loving 3 and all, but underwater fighting and no real online play means that I may be ready for a new one soon :)

Stories is an RPG set in the Monster Hunter universe.
Generations is an actual Monster Hunter game (and no water!)

I kind of wish I knew how to make a Civ 5 mod so I could do a Halforums civilization, ruled by Dave.

Each city would be a Halforumite.

Special Unit: North Ranger, an archer unit that gets a bonus when fighting in rough terrain and can move through as though it were standard.
OR
Special Building: Sauna, +3 happiness, city must be adjacent to forest tile. +2 production if tundra terrain also adjacent.

Suggestions for other special units, bonuses, etc?

I just saw it on craigslist. The seller told me when I picked it up that I was the first one to respond without asking if they could connect it with HDMI.

Wow. I actually remember seeing that for sale. But mostly what I remember is being upset that I wasn't allowed to stay there and play it while my mom shopped elsewhere.
