From what I've read, yeah, it's useless.

Sounds like it's a fun nod to the upcoming Pokemon Sleep app.

Completely useless. Much like most other of the recent events ,they're just ways of ensuring everyone and their cat have a few of the formerly "rare" Pokémon from gen 1-2.

needing to clear up friend space, do most of you still play? I know there hasn't been any friend advancement with several of you for months. I also can't match everyone's in-game name with HF username.

Still play, bit somewhat rarely. I don't remember off hand how far along we are as friends, if we've already passed 3 hearts, feel free to remove me :(

I still play, but I go around with a full inventory (or nearly full) almost all of the time, so I don't open gifts as much as other people might.

I still play at least 1x a day and I haven't hit level 40 yet (AdrenaLynne). But I think we maxed out as Friends if you need to trim me.

Because of the torrential downpour and hail and wind, coupled with having, what, 20 Kyogres already, I wasn't really planning on going out today for raid hour. But one gym is nearby, and there were only 4 people so they were struggling, so I went...Hey, finally caught my first shiny Kyogre! Huzzah for a pink whale!
Now back to barely playing.

So the son of a friend of mine recently started playing. Or, well, getting to throw balls at moving cutesy little animals when she's out on her walks with her son and the other boy in the buggy. Anyway, he thinks it's totally rad and AMAZING when I can trade him a Pokémon that was caught aaaaalllll the way over in Antwerp or something. So, those of you living in exotic places like London or Hawai'i, and aren't evil are willing to make a cute little kiddie happy and have the friend space to add someone who'll happily send gifts back but probably not every day, feel free to add him.

Except that I just can't find a way to get his friend code out of the app, and she added me, so now I can't give you a code and this whole post is useless. Sigh. Anyway, I'll add in his code when I get it :p

It's not a problem that people played sporadically, I just needed space because I'm doing some traveling soon and wanted to get to at least ultra friends for cheaper regional trades (or best/lucky if possible) with strangers I might be able to meet. Then after the trip I would drop most of them as I would likely never meet them again and don't need distance trades from gift eggs. Then re-friend HF players.
