What are you playing?

I don't even know what difficulty I picked, been awhile since I started the game. I'm mostly surprised that if you don't headshot it seems to take a full clip to kill one guy. The jumping just feels off to me, I'm not sure what it is exactly that bugs me. Maybe it's because I was piddling around in Assassin's Creed III not long before.
The parkour aspect in AC is definitely better and more fluid.

You know, FC3 is really making me want an open-world shooter in the settings vein of BioShock. Like With weird steampunk guns and super-powers and airships and stuff.

That would be the shit.

Is Dishonored open-world? That's also on my list.
That was what I and many others thought Dishonored was going to be when the previews first came out. Sadly, it's mission based, and while there are lots of options and methods to approach each mission and area, it's an overall linear game with a lazy story. I'd have forgiven that story if we had Dunwall (the city) as one seamless open area to explore and a shitton of gameplay, but unfortunately that's not what we got. It's a good game, but not a great one.

Also, been playing the Adventure Time game. It's a ton of fun, but sadly way too short. It's easy to 100% in the first run and the NG+ only doubles enemy health, so it's not making it much harder or anything. I hope WayForward makes another AT game and makes it last more than a few hours.
This is why I haven't bought it. I downloaded the demo and it's fun, but the brevity means I'm not getting it until it's real cheap, or part of buy 2 get 1 free venture to Gamestop.

So, Payday the Heist is 5$ on Amazon with a Steam Key.

Should I buy this?

Who has this?
Payday is Left 4 Dead 2, if you were performing heists instead of killing zombies. It's 8 levels (two of which you need the DLC to host, but not to play) with multiple ways of each heist playing out, with at least 4 levels of difficulty. Completing objectives in each heist gets you money which levels up your character and unlocks new and better gear for you to use on your heists. There are 3 upgrade paths (with a 4th in the DLC).

I personally think it's a lot of fun. It requires a higher degree of teamwork than Left 4 Dead, especially on the higher difficulties, but it's also much easier to get into. I'd say it's worth at least $5.

This game interests me and thus I'll buy it.

Any dependable peeps over here play this shit? Or want to?

Remember how awesome we were in HF? In ME3? JOIN THE JAY.[DOUBLEPOST=1357352607][/DOUBLEPOST]Amazon product

Ok the more I play FC3 the less I like it. As suspected the ability to "ping" enemy locations is ridiculously overpowered and never should have been included. The number of random jeeps I meet on the road is really indicative of poor design. I don't know how many times I have been fighting some guys when a jeep rolls up and joins the fight. Then another. Then another. In one fight I ended up with 4 empty jeeps....

I dunno. There's just something really really really wrong with that game.

I recall FC2 having that same issue. Gotta give Jeep their product placement money's worth somehow.

The random jeep rollup has cost me time and again when trying to clear an outpost undetected.

Also, times when a guy would see me seemingly miles above, while I'm ducking in foliage when he's only a small spec on my high powered rifles scope whereas other times, I'll be not 40 meters away in some high grass and no one knows what's going on while I'm sniping head after head.

Tropico 4. I couldn't help myself and picked it up in the Steam holiday sale, because it was under $10. It's not a bad game concept-wise, but it has some pretty serious balance issues. It looks like the designers wanted the game to last a long time, but couldn't figure out a way to do that without just making each individual mission take longer than the previous mission, so whereas the first few missions were taking a couple hours at a time, the most recent missions have been taking me 6 to 8 hours (each) to complete. It's still fun, but if mission 12 takes 8 hours, I'd hate to see how long mission 20 (of 20) takes.

My big gripe with Tropico 4 is that it was marketed as a full price standalone "sequel," when technologically it was a thinly-veiled expansion pack for Tropico 3.

I'm not playing them yet, but once they become available to PlayStation Plus subscribers for free (sometime day), I intend to play the shit out of MegaMan 9 and 10.

I have a lot of games to play, but I'm too addicted to Picross puzzles lately to play any of them. I just watch TV and figure out picross puzzles instead. :3

I've never played Picross on a Nintendo system, but I had a Palm OS game (Picture Logic) with those style of puzzles. I loved them so much, and spent many many hours solving them.

I haven't played either, I've been playing on the iPad. I have about 10 Picross apps... >.> I swear I don't have a problem!
Considering picking up the DS Picross game!

Pic-a-Pix by Conceptis Puzzles http://www.conceptispuzzles.com/index.aspx?uri=puzzle/pic-a-pix
iPacross http://ipacross.braintreestudio.com/
and Shady Puzzles http://shadypuzzle.com/

iPacross is my favorite and Pic-a-Pix is a very close second. Pic-a-Pix has a good amount of puzzles to buy, and comes in a variety of B&W and color puzzles! The colored puzzles are a nice change from the normal B&W.
Shady Puzzles unfortunately doesn't make fun pictures. :( But that one was my first and I like the scribble noises!

If you really like Puzzle games you should try "Drop 7". It's one of the better puzzle games I've ever played (though nothing beats Sudoku, which can only properly be played with a pencil, paper, and a huge eraser.)

Anyone happen to know if neck snapping is the only execution in Saints Row 3 for a Human Shield? I could swear at one point I saw my character do a pistol execution at one point but I can't recreate it.

I have like 20 new games from the Steam Christmas sale and I am figuratively crippled with choice. Every time I go to play something, I get all anxious and end up playing some Dawn of War Dark Crusade to satiate my need for more 40K. God I wish there were more, better, 40K games. What a rad license to go to waste like it is right now.

Hopefully Sega picks it up in the great THQ garage sale and the Total War guys can do a 40K game as well as a fantasy game.

It's more like the guys who ARE good at doing 40k games are caught up in a bitter divorce at the moment. We really don't know what is going to happen to Relic right now, so it's possible that they and the license will go to someone interested in doing even more great stuff with the franchise.

I dunno, I love Relic, I do, but Dawn of War 2 wasn't very good and Space Marine was also pretty blah. I think it's time for some new blood while they do what they want and love to do, the Company of Heroes games.

I actually really liked DoW2. It was a drastically different kind of game from the first or CoH, but I thought the RTT-aspect of it was very enjoyable.

Still haven't played Space Marine though (heard it was a lame version of Gears, which seems kind of funny).

I've only ever seen neck snap executions. I know if you have the vampire DLC you bite their neck instead, but clearly that's not what you're remembering.

On certain missions you have to grab a certain person, which leads to you pointing a gun in his/her face, but that doesn't sound like what you're remembering either.
