What are you playing?

Mike and I also started over with Gears. He finally has an XBL account, which means he *has* to play all his games again. :) This time we're switching so I get to be Dom! We're playing on Hardcore this time around, and I'm doing surprisingly okay! I don't think I'll *ever* be able to play on Insane, as Hardcore is just enough of a challenge!

So, not knowing what I am doing, I promptly started Fallout 3 by entering into the Anchorage DLC, which is nothing but combat. As someone who relies on stealth and charm to cover the fact that I mostly suck at first person shooters, I'm just going to pretend this is a really advanced tutorial on how to suck less at it.

Just use the VATS system.

Yeah, I upped the hell out of Stealth, and I was unstoppable with VATS. If they gang up, it starts to suck. But with one of the plasma or energy sniper rifles, they don't even get the chance.

I never knew that I wanted to play a metroidvania style game about a luchadore that can hop dimensions, turn into a chicken at will, and has tons of meme and video game references. But 2 hours in, I can't believe how much I'm loving Guacamelee.

Controls are tight, great gameplay mechnaics and more nerd references than you can shake a stick at. Plus it's got a kickass artstyle.

The good news about starting with operation anchorage is that the rewards are so powerful, it won't matter if you suck anymore at the end.

I just saw a review on this. It looks like a lot of fun!

This is 100% true. Whether you're a stealthy character, a power armored tank, a melee fighter, or an energy weapons specialist, there's something in there for everyone. The stealthy reward is, in particular, notoriously game-breaking.

(In fact, I heard that there's no equivalent item in New Vegas. Makes me want to download a mod to fix that. I love me some game-breaking stealth)

Gamebreaking item...

You talking about the Chinese Stealth suit, correct? You can get one from the radioactive room in Hoover dam in New Vegas. Only one in the game and it's in bad condition, so you'll need to speed thousands of caps to fix it.

From what I've read though, it doesn't have the automatic infinite stealth field, right?

Honestly, New Vegas is broken in many other ways, mostly because of the DLCs. Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road all have armor and weapons that far outstrip anything you could get in the vanilla game. Toss in Gun Runners and you have access to the best weapons period.

Devil Survivor Overclocked: I think I spend more time fretting over demon fusions than playing the damn battles. It was actually a little easier to balance the teams before I realized you can swap the humans' skills in and out as you please, so I had some restriction.

I ignore disagrees because nobody ever explains why they disagree, so I assume they're just being a dickbag for no reason and move on.
Most disagrees I see are when someone is stating an opinion, like in the religion/politics forum or whether a movie is good or bad or Charlie. Those are clear. It's vague when someone just disagrees to something arbitrary.

He clearly disagrees that you spend more time fretting over demon fusions than playing the battles. He believes it is the other way around, and that you're simply lying about your personal experience.

Yeah, you always say this when called out on it and yet it's never true.

Yeah, I do actually. Thanks for assuming otherwise though. I can still guarantee I rarely use disagree, but hey, if you want to keep thinking that way, be my guest ;)

(If you read that thread, I already explained why I was disagreeing with people calling the episdode D GRADE when Fade brought it up, so those were not empty Disagrees. Thanks for proving my point with your link)

SO MOVING ON

Been playing a lot of WoW lately, got an Orc Rogue to 90 and am exploring things on the Hordeside Pandaland dailies before the big 5.3 patch hits. Good times.

I cannot decide on an Alliance to take to the Isle of Thunder. My Horde Paladin (main) has already completed pretty much everything on Panderia/Isle, but I keep starting then stopping an Alliance character, even though I have high 80s chars, I keep starting new ones :(

Fine! I was exaggerating! It was just one little exaggeration. I confess, I spend more time doing battles. It just feels like I spend a lot of time in the demon splicing. Also, Pendragon sucks and was a waste of my Garm. I'm not ponying up 3,300 to get him back though.

Also stop playing shitty games.
Like Killing Floor? :p

I can understand you saying that when I play a Pokemon game, you have some weird hang-up about what games one should play to feel manly. However, Atlus makes good RPGs. Not only do they make good ones, they make good ones often and consistently. They're pretty much the only company still doing so.

Says the guy whose top upcoming game is Dead Island

Dead Island's original trailer could fool anyone into making that bad purchase choice, but Jay, everyone and their mother knows better than to dip a dick into Riptide, and your game time is going to get more and more limited with a kid entering your life. I have plenty of free time and can play what I want. You're going to have choose carefully now how you spend your meager gaming time, so ...

stop playing shitty games.
