What are you playing?

Scrolls
I like the mechanics. It's a card based game with some minor tactical elements, just enough to matter and distinguish itself from a certain other TCG that you will inevitably compare all collectible card games to. The rules themselves are interesting and there's lots of elements you have to manage at a time. Being said, I found the CPU to be really hard, even on easy my matches with it tend to be lopsided. Against another person things worked out much more evenly.

The store shows promise. You buy everything with Gold or Shards. Gold you get for playing in matches and Shards you purchase with real money. Everything in the game is purchasable with gold, and several items are only available via gold. Those are random scrolls, random scroll booster packs and a random scroll of a particular color faction. They also have a set of 6 predetermined scrolls that can be purchased individually that are in a weekly rotation, the other two pre-constructed decks, and avatars for your profile. Those can be purchased with shards instead of gold.

I'm enjoying it so far. I don't know if I would recommend it as a must buy, but if you like collectible card games it's probably worth checking out.

I've been playing against the computer trying to gear up to tackle actual players. It's good to hear that they are easier than the AI cause I keep getting wrecked by them.

I've had several friends asking me about the Neverwinter FTP MMO. I think I'll check it out.
I tried it. It's a Cryptic Studios game.

That's all you need to know.

Also, I cry every day they can't get a D&D game right.

Whoops. It's available for the first time on Steam, but not on sale. My bad. :(
If past years are any indication, the Steam Summer Sale is just around the corner. Chances are it'll go on sale then, and even if it doesn't, the Christmas sale is a dead cert. Or it could go on sale in the summer and then end up even cheaper for Christmas.

Either way, I'm waiting until December to buy.

I finally got around to starting a game of BioShock for the first time. I've played Infinite all the way through, but now I'm giving it's older brother a try.

Absolutely nothing except some Facebook games. Seriously, my best pc right now is a Pentium IV, 1 core 1.7GHz with a graphics card dating back to 2004 or something.

Gah!

State of Decay...so far, meh...just another button masher. I hope it gets better.

Then again, I'm still at the beginning. I should give it a better chance before I bitch about it.

I had hopes for this game but lost it a few months ago after some gameplay vids.

I've been playing Marvel Heroes. I've really enjoyed it. It's nothing groundbreaking, pretty much Diablo with Marvel heroes. You can choose from 5 initial heroes (one bugaboo I have is that when you chose your initial character, that's the only one you have unlocked, so even the "free" heroes aren't all free, just technically one of them). Additional heroes and costumes are either rare drops or you can purchase them through the store. The pricing is ridiculous, so I'll stick with drops for the character and costume unlocks. It has a pretty good crafting system, and is just fun to play. The drops for characters, I would assume are more rare based on how much they cost. For example, I started with Hawkeye and got Daredevil and Cable pretty early on as drops. People are saying that it is pay to win, but I don't see it at all, seeing as everything is dropped, so you never really have to pay for anything unless you're absolutely itching to unlock specific characters and costumes.

Been playing Star Trek Online, doing the Romulan stuff. BUMS ME OUT that I'm not playing villainous Romulan out for deception and blood but some noble bullshit Romulan fighting the Tal'Shiar oppression. Every time the Tal'Shiar wanted me to join them, I wanted there to be a FUCK YES option, but there wasn't. It was always NO I WILL NEVER JOIN YOU I DON'T TRUST YOOOOOU.

As always, the space combat is super fun, but the away missions are a drag.

Seeing as I'm now crusing around in D'Deridex Warbird, it's shocking just how fucking big those things were supposed to be. There's more mass in the bird head front of the ship than in the entirety of a Galaxy glass vessel.

Someone explain Animal Crossing to me. I don't get it, but it's all I'm hearing about.
I've only played the Gamecube version, but I don't think there's been any drastic overhauls, just additions. It's about collecting stuff to decorate your house. It's really just a bunch of mini-games and fetch-quests, set in a quirky world with pleasant music. The dialogue can be pretty funny at points, and the art design is pretty charming, IMO. There's also new content throughout the year based on the system clock, with weather changing, certain holidays having special events and what-not.

Having just watched a few episodes of DS9 involving Romulans, that appears series accurate. Those things were huge.

Thanks for explaining. Doesn't sound like my thing.

You know, I was thinking about getting Animal Crossing, too, but Pez's description makes it sound really...boring.

He explained it badly.

It's an addicting game where you play a cute fellow and do cute things. Animals around you live in their own homes and you interact with them. You receive goodies for services rendered. Every few days an event happens. Holidays things happen. Your bday things happen. And so forth.

In general, it's a far better game you've been wasting your time playing the last 3 years since you stopped PC gaming.

I didn't find it boring. I played it every day for nearly a year, and from what I understand the newer games have even more content. While it is fetch quests and mini-games, it's well done fetch-quests and mini-games. There's a nice sense of discovery, and I always got a very happy feeling from playing it. While it did help that I played with my three sisters, and we each had a character in our two towns, I probably would have enjoyed it even by myself (though the newer games have online features.)

Animal Crossing really knows how to push reward buttons, if you're the type to like the art style and collecting stuff. Getting all the bugs and fish isn't a small task; it takes some thought and skill to catch the bugs, and persistence to catch the fish. I liked running errands around town because the characters are so goofy, the town started to be familiar, and fun to run around. I liked decorating my house, and collecting all the bits of furniture.

If I already had a 3DS, I'd probably be picking up New Leaf as soon as I could, since I know some people who will be playing it.
