I don't have any respect for the Satanists' attempt to offend the WBC. Fred Phelps is clearly a man who is very angry, cocky and mean, but in spite of that, he's still a person and I believe he deserves some simple respect. His mother's grave? How sad. Just because he is mean, do you not think he is capable of good feelings? Of having loved his mother? Protest him. Counter protest. Write letters. Be gay in front of him. But don't go and try to hurt him by making out on his mother's grave.
I can't imagine any of us would like someone to make out on our parents' graves, gay satanists or otherwise.
Sigh.

To get respect, even simple respect, you have to give it/earn it. Sorry, he doesn't deserve ANYTHING.
Including attention. Now WBC is in the news again and being discussed again.
As despicable as I find the WBC, this kind of thing only serves to feed them and draw attention to them.

I imagine we disagree about how to establish respect. While there are certainly levels of respect I feel must be earned, everyone, even those who hurt you still are human beings worthy of some respect.
I wouldn't invite Phelps over for coffee, but I wouldn't seek out causing him pain or disrespect. If we're not nice to people because they're not nice, when is the cycle broken? This is the stuff of feuds, violence begets violence and all that jazz.

It's his mother. She had nothing to do with Westboro, considering she died at such a young age and when he was like six. I'm not a religious person, but I think it's absolutely shameful that people are cheering this kind of stupidity on.
Just let them sit in their little fantasy corner and eventually they'll just fade out of existence.

What I learned from the 70's is to pull out your pistol and return fire. It don't work, but looks bad ass...
And everyone can be knocked out with one punch, and have no lingering side-effects or concussions afterwards.
