The Super Dooper Canadian Thread (now with 47% more Canadian Bacon)

I hope somebody pays the big fine for swimming in a shipping channel for him. 25K is steep for a night of drunken recklessness.

I am from Windsor originally and suggest that guy checks for extra limps. The Detroit river is a goddamn cesspool.

HEY! ThatNickGuy you limp dick short stack red shirt DC humping dishmonger! Me and the boss are gonna be up on your ass on Natal day, wanna slam a few back at the LR, hit the Nerd box and slap your John Hancock on a couple books?

Sweet pole-dancing Jesus, enough with the tagging! Cripes, you Haligonians. More like HaliGOONS, am I right?

But oh yes, I do seem to have Saturdays and Sundays off these days. We should do some adventuring. STRANGE Adventuring.

Guy from Toronto has a stroke, then develops synesthesia. Story: http://www.sciencecodex.com/st_mich...eloping_synesthesia_after_brain_injury-116646

Only the 2nd-ever time this has been documented to have developed after a brain injury.

For those who haven't heard of it, synesthesia is a condition that people are (usually) born with, in that they experience "mixed" senses, such as sounds eliciting the thoughts of "colors" or other mixed sensations. Cool, but odd.
I've often told people I want to experience synesthesia, and now you're telling me all I have to do is have a stroke? Ha, no problem. Bring on the blood clot.

Considering the number of strokes per year, and how this is the 2nd time this has ever been recorded to occur, I wish you good luck. VERY good luck. Holy crap, unimaginably good luck. And that the stroke doesn't **** you up severely in the process as well.

Thanks. I'm definitely gonna need it. But life is full of risk, who am I to turn away from this?

Fuck, well. I guess I had my shot and blew it.

Well you guys forgot to mention the first time that hearing the James Bond thing made the guy nearly cream his jeans so excuuuuussse me!

We are just odd. Person gets charged for pointing a single laser pointer at a police helicopter and flashing it 3 times: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/story/2013/08/01/calgary-laser-helicopter-crm.html

Then you have this in Egypt:
I think our cops need to stop freaking out.
To be fair I don't want a laser being flashed in my eyes especially when operating equipment. The Egyptian pilots seemed to tolerate having them aimed at them however not every cell phone/book reading/cosmetic/drunk driving attempt while driving a car results in a crash but people don't tend to have a good opinion of distracted/impaired drivers.

Leduc, Yellowknife and El Dorado the fucking city of gold being right next to each other made me guffaw.

Oh, looking it up, I guess there was a mining town in north Saskatchewan called Eldorado that ceased to be 1982.

We'll agree to disagree then.

Suffice it to say, it's what my wife prefers. *grins*

Hell, they're damned near the same thing. Y'all have the gauntlets and the Sam Browne on us (I will admit, the gauntlets are sharp.
