What are you playing?

I must be a glutton for punishment. Either that or I just hate myself deep down.

My Awesomenauts lifetime Win % is less than 40.
Everytime I play Hearthstone online, my Win % is less than 40.

Everything I play competitively I lose way more than I win.

I don't have fun.

Yet I have 50+ backlogged single player games and I spend hours on Awesomenauts and Hearthstone.
You know what game literally has "losing is fun" as its tagline?

I got Luigi's mansion 2 and I LOVE it! My only qualm is that I wish there were more jump scares like in the first game, but its still really fun.

I've been playing Kid Icarus on the virtual console. It's one of those games I always wanted to play, but never owned in my childhood. I had it on the Wii, but got very fed up with the control-scheme and frustrated with the difficulty. Now that I have it on the Wii U I've been playing it a little more diligently. I'm only on the third world boss, but I can see how this game was well received. As per my Super Ghouls and Ghosts run I've offset the difficulty by using the restore point option on a frequent basis. May be cheating, but I see it like this: Many games in my past took me months of play to beat. Specially ones that had high difficulty and no save features. Some games have password features, but even those get you just to the start of a level. Games like Kid Icarus are challenging because the levels are so unforgiving. You miss-time a jump and that's it. Game over, and start from the beginning of the level. Sadly I don't have the time in my life to spend mastering a game the hard way anymore.
Despite overcoming the difficulty with the save feature, there were a few things I found interesting. Through the game I came across a bunch of hammers that I could collect, but could only ever use in the dungeons. I had absolutely no idea what they did until I did some reading online. Same thing with the Eggplant curse. I had no idea how to get rid of it (besides restarting from last save and praying I wouldn't get the curse again) until I read that the strangely empty hospital rooms would remove the curse for me. Just a few things that I had absolutely no idea how to do, which were probably covered for me in the manuals that came with the games. It's interesting how nowadays we can just pop in a game and hardly ever have to consult the instructions, assuming there even is one. The games today are pretty smart about training you as you go along.

Left 4 Dead was kind of fun in losing if you were with a good group who still tried their best.
Yeah, I can't help but admire when a really well put-together ambush by the infected team leads to a TPK for the survivors. I sit there typing congrats into the chat while my character is getting ripped apart on screen.

Finished my fourth run of Devil Survivor Overclocked. It amazes me that I picked up this game in August 2012, tried out a random battle on the former owner's save without giving it a fair shot, and quickly returned it to get Kid Icarus Uprising, and now over a year later, I had purchased it brand new in March 2013 and have logged nearly 10 times as many hours into it as I did the game I replaced it with previously. It's just become one of those games I love so much that I can't stay away from it. Europe is getting an eshop version--I wish I could too so I'd have it with me all the time.

And even after four playthroughs, there's still much more to do. I looked up a strategy on beating Lucifer now that I have enough points to summon him ... no, that's not happening for a while.

I just got my Hearthstone Beta invite.

I lost 4hrs instantly.

I don't think I'm going to be able to play much else for a while now.
I just got mine. How big is the download? I'm wishing I had my authenticator with me so I could get the download going.

It's very small in size.

As for my playing?

I'm losing days instead of hours now... so addicting. You can earn gold to buy packs through gameplay instead of paying real money but it's very very slow.

I suck ass at this. But it is very addicting...

It's half strategy/skill and half the cards you have. So keep practicing and playing matches with people online and you'll get a ton of cards before you know it.
I think it's a lot of learning what the other classes bring, and what to counter with. Plus I've never played card games before.[DOUBLEPOST=1381201007,1381200888][/DOUBLEPOST]Working with a touch screen sucks balls. This game should be made with that in mind. Plus you can't put it full screen on a second display.

Why would they make it with a touch screen in mind unless it were a mobile game?

Oh my shit, Etrian Odyssey Untold just made a Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers reference. Not really a spoiler but will tag it anyways.

They are making it compatible with IOS and Android when it releases out of Beta for PC.
Not sure if you heard, but there won't be any more wipes, even when it comes out of beta. So you'll be able to keep everything you earn or buy from here on out.

Oh wow that's amazing news. I was really worried about that as my Mage and Priest decks are pretty nice. Makes me think twice about disenchanting some Gold cards though....

Most of the time I'm torn between spending my earned gold on a new pack of cards or play through the Arena.

Well I've only had a 4 month break since the first month of release, I was an annual pass holder and I've bought every Blizzcon stream. I won't openly admit how much I've spent on transactions ;P

Seriously though, I hope you all get in because it's a fantastic game and needs more players!

I haven't enjoyed a CCG like this since I first played MTG.

Supposedly they're working towards everyone signed up for the beta to get an invite before it goes live, so you should get one eventually.

I haven't gotten into it too much, and with it being my first time even dabbling in a card game, it's all a bit new. It is fun, and the matchmaking system is good too. You don't win all the time, but you do win enough to make it fun. Which can be hard if you aren't getting fair matches.

That's the latest news from the devs anyways. It's in one of the stickies in the beta forum, so who knows, it could still change.

Yup.[DOUBLEPOST=1381468313,1381468077][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh, and I hate more than anything when people give up right before you're about to beat them. Giving up at the beginning knowing you got a bad hand, or you're outmatched, is fine. Giving up so you don't have watch yourself lose in the next round is shitty. It has no real effect on anything, so why do it?

To piss you off?
I have a feeling it's more of a pride thing. It really doesn't matter to me, since it doesn't mess with stats or anything. It's just annoying. They don't want to see themselves lose, so they quit. Some how they think that's better.

Getting ready to fire up TellTale's 'The Wolf Among Us'. Between the Fables comic and The Walking Dead game, expectations are running high.

I've never had a game of Magic The Gathering Duel of the Planeswalkers last more than three turns (unless I lose). Within two or three turns, if an opponent is at any sort of disadvantage, they quit. Sucks, I'll never get the achievement for legit winning a game. Just play it out. Do they like it when people quit when they have the advantage? Seriously. Fuck all these people.

COMPLETELY UNRELATED

Fuck early access games on Steam too now. Hey, that game's out! Sweet! Oh, it's an early access title. Fuck. Like half of the featured titles on the front page are early access titles.

No, I won't pay full price to beta test your game.
