[TV] Talk about the last TV you watched, the catchall thread

I'm liking Almost Human. I know it's about as derivative as it gets but I like the chemistry between Judge Dredd and Dorian.

I've been disappointed with Almost Human - though I do enjoy the John/Dorian chemistry as well. I don't think I'll keep watching it. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is definitely sticking around though. Always a good few chuckles.

"I had no idea it was genetic"... Really? Really, Grimm? Nick's aunt was a Grimm, too, and he had no inkling that it might have been genetic, right off of the bat?

Your writing can be so dense sometimes. How is it ever clever? I swear.

Cops throw up their hands in disgusted defeat.gif

Grimm - El Cucuy was hilarious! But I wish they would pick a plot line and tie it up or devote more time to it. There is a lot going on, but nothing really happening, imo.

There are some Arrow spoilers/cryptic clues that were leaked to Bleeding Cool via a drunken source, so take that how you will.

“Born on a Monday…”
Someone else survived the island.
Amanda makes an offer.
A better use for that clocktower.
What is the question you should have asked?
Ollie is not the first vigilante.
Not all hoods are green.
A blank expression.
“Archer”
“Rise”

My guesses

“Born on a Monday…” - Solomon Grundy obviously
Someone else survived the island. - Deathstroke...I guess
Amanda makes an offer. - Suicide Squad
A better use for that clocktower. - New base?
What is the question you should have asked? - It better be about the Question
Ollie is not the first vigilante. - BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATMAN, probably not
Not all hoods are green. - Some are Red!
A blank expression. - WHICH QUESTION IS IT?!
“Archer” - Is a show I can't wait to start up again in the new year
“Rise” - Well, the show is already a TV adaptation of the Nolan movies, why not Bane?

Oh man, in the 80's there was and awesome team up with The Question and Green Arrow...

And the previous vigilante could be Wildcat... it would fit with Black Canary.

Those are cryptic clues/spoilers and leaks? Those have been references and throwaway lines from the show. Teases and almost certainly nothing more, just like the D.A. being Kate Spencer, or the constant references to Markovia.

I'm on the fence for the same reasons. Those two are great when they're busting each other's chops, but the plot lines in each episode are so boring! I'm going to give it a few more chances to pick up, then I'm out.

Started watching American Horror Story, I'm about half way through the first season.

What an unevenly written series. I found multiple episodes to be excellent, and others to be pretty much terrible.

Season finale of Sons of Anarchy, every twist required pretty much every character to be as absolutely dumb as possible to make work. Especially Unser and Nero.

Jesus Christ.

I never watched Arrow, and only the first season of Walking Dead, so I don't feel qualified to make the comparison.

I'm almost through the first season already and it's settled into mediocre to good. I do find the over-arching storyline intriguing, though. I'm also very much enjoying watching Jessica Lange ham it up in the best of ways.

Speaking of Arrow, I just started watching it recently. I'm three episodes in so far and I'm kinda digging it. The actor playing Ollie is pretty good, even if he seems to have the inability to walk around with a shirt. And the supporting characters are honestly pretty ho-hum and generic. But overall, it's not bad. It's not terrible or unwatchable, but it's not fantastic.

Though I will say this: I just watched the Deadshot episode. And it's just SO SO VERY WRONG that Deadshot does not have a pornstache. That's like Batman without dead parents. It's the #1 prime reason why the current DC comics are not proper DC. Pornstache = Deadshot. Therefore, whoever this guy in the comics and this show is not Deadshot.

I'm straight and I like it when he doesn't wear a shirt. That dude has probably the pinnacle physique a man can aspire to.

Thing I'm most excited about in the next half of season 2?

About fucking time. The smeared mascara look was terrible.

I started Arrow, and while the show is good when it focuses on the vigilante stuff, the, what I am calling WBness of the show is really a drag (I am looking at you Laurel).

The difference is the good in Arrow outweighs the dumb of its bad, which is not nearly as brainless as the bad parts of Walking Dead, where the most consistent and intelligent characters in the show are the Zombies.

Well, seeing as I finished the entire first season in one stretch, it was obviously compelling enough to keep me watching. Having finished the first season, I'll go ahead and say that the good far outweighs the bad.

"OH MY GOD! Brian came back to life on Family Guy! What a huge surprise." said no-one EVER! On the one hand if I ever accidentally watch Family Guy again I won't have to listen to Tony Sirrico doing bad Italian jokes.

I really dislike Family Guy. A lot.
Yeah the show has gone REALLY down hill since season nine, especially the dark jokes going WAY too far at times. I find it funny since Family Guy would take shots at The Simpsons going on too long and being not funny any more- HAH! The Simpsons could make the least funny episode of any sitcom in years, and it would STILL be more enjoyable than the crap Family Guy is slinging now.[DOUBLEPOST=1387211426,1387211223][/DOUBLEPOST]
I hoped that they would at least go a few months...
Honestly I was too, at least like 7 episodes but this barely qualifies a story arc.

Family Guy was always kind of hit or miss, but since the advent of the Cleveland Show, it descended into uniformly abysmal dreck. I guess making a third show was just the straw that broke the creative camel's back - not that it was a heavy lifter to begin with.

Very true and while I'd like to believe that the cancellation of the Cleveland show would bring back some of that steam, its not very likely.

I honestly don't know how much direct involvement Seth McFarlane has with the writing of Family Guy anymore. He's made it clear he thought it should have ended seasons ago, and may even be actively trying to sabotage it now, or just completely phoning it in. But if Fox is still willing to write him checks... can't say I blame him.

Psych: The Musical

It pretty much lives up to the title. If you watch Psych still you should watch it, if you don't pass. Takes place before all the bru-ha-ha that went on at the end of season 7.[DOUBLEPOST=1387227046,1387226833][/DOUBLEPOST]Arrow

Loved the mid-season finale. Season 2 so far has had far more hits than misses, which is good because when this show hits it's great.

Arrow- I like it. Despite the sudden "Let's all be super heroes and vigilantes cause we are handing powers out like candy."

Almost Human: Okay. I don't know if anyone else is talking about this show, but I'm loving it. Karl Urban is awesome. The guy playing his android partner is awesome. It's got amazing effects. The writing is very enjoyable. I say if you haven't seen this yet, check it out.

I'm enjoying Almost Human as well. Even my wife is watching over my shoulder as it plays, and she'd definitely a discerning tv watcher.

Well, I'm watching it so that pretty much guarantees it's going to be dead at the end of the season. I thank the stars I got two seasons of Better Off Ted before they cancelled that fantastic show.

Way to open an old wound.... :p[DOUBLEPOST=1387516277,1387515920][/DOUBLEPOST]So, I just binged on season 1 and 2 of American Horror Story. I'm pretty much digging it. In the second season they REALLY threw everything horror at the wall to see what would stick.
Demons, mad scientists, aliens, serial killers, NAZIS for god's sake.
I still liked it. I started watching Season 3 and after the second episode, I'm really disappointed. Even when the other seasons got goofy (and they most certainly do at some points), they still held a creepy atmosphere. I'm not thrilled with this Hogwarts/Charmed crap they start season 3 off with. It doesn't have any atmosphere outside of the first scene. Hopefully it will improve, but I'm not holding my breath.

Does Almost Human's scripts improve? The last episode I saw was the a poor-man's Die Hard, and while I love the cast's chemistry and the potential of the setting, the writing in the first few episodes has just been so dull. A real waste of a sci-fi premise
