On thunt's twitter he said that each head now has a back story. I'm guessing those will be the new altsplanations.

Though we never got one for psimax, did we?

Not really too hard to extrapolate Psimax's background, though. Minmax in that universe maximized his power as a psion, becoming highly intelligent. Eventually he became so cold and logical that he came to the "logical" conclusion that oblivion is preferable to existence.

There may be other elements, perhaps something to do with his Kin and Forgath, but I think the most pertinent points have been revealed.

Unless we haven't seen the last of him, and there's more to his backstory that will play into future events.

I personally doubt we'll see him again. At the end of the Maze of Many arc, he was returned to his own reality, and "our" group returned to reality 156.

Though, of course, there may be other ways to bridge realities, and you can bet that if there's anyone that can figure out how to jump realities, it'd be Psimax. So his return isn't 100% impossible.

Man, just imagine if Psimax warped in to this fight between Forgath and Kore.

Prediction:

Forgath wins, gets the Kore Kurse. Forgath is the new Kore. Maybe he can control it at first? But kin comes back. For-kore SetsHis sights on her. The serpentIs the prey, friends are enemies and love fules hate.

Also forgath has only one good eye now, so maybe the magic helmet stuff happens and molds like current Kore's.

I wonder what kind of roll ends up with an Axe stuck in your hand, but also disarming your opponent.

Also helmet stuff is happening. I think this supports my theory.

Not looking good. At all. Not just for Forgath being completely outclassed by this psychopath, but no-one seems to have mentioned that right now,

Kore is in possession of the only thing that gave Forgath any sort of edge. So he's supposedly a significantly higher-leveled character who's been beating the crap out of the dwarven cleric with standard axes. He now has an an axe that has a +7 bonus against his own race. Then again, it's kinda obvious.

I love Goblins, but FFS, these long gaps between updates are getting somewhat ridiculous.
Yeah, the update thing on the left has been stuck on "Today" for like three days now.

EDIT: Apparently he's been in and out of the ER with chest pains for the last few days, so I'll cut him some slack.

Man, it's been like a week and not even a tweet from the guy. Hope he's OK.
It's been a subject of concern on the Goblins forum too - though they finally were able to get in contact with Thunt's wife Danielle and everyone's okay - still waiting on a "blog post" by someone for an explanation.

Though it would be somehow fitting if he said "the next three pages will blow your fucking mind"

And then died.

Well that's a major relief. Thanks for shedding some light on the subject mate, I think we were all starting to get more than a little nervous.

Per this post, it sounds like something major happened.

Danielle - Tarol's wife said:
I know he's going to go public with at least this much information:

Although it is an emergency situation, nobody is dead or dying. As soon as the dust finishes settling, Tarol is going to post a blog and get back to work on the comic.

I'm wondering if it's some kind of legal troubles. Maybe something having to do with the game and or leaving blind ferret. That or someone at Wizards of the Coast finally found out about this and took issue with it.

Geez... I hope this isn't were we hear he is dying of cancer or some nonsense.[DOUBLEPOST=1395203412,1395203312][/DOUBLEPOST]

He's already made it quite clear that he's prepared to drop all references to the D&D snake person race and everything else (except maybe THACO) is generic. I suppose he could have spent the last two months reworking pages, but he'd have said something.

My personal guess is a close family member falling ill or dying. Legal trouble probably wouldn't fall under "urgent private reasons", as posted on the update counter. Recently his wife Danielle said that neither of them are ill or dying. So that's why I'm guessing it's someone else close to them.

Okay, he said he was going to post today and today is nearly over. Inquiring minds want to know!

Well remember that in thunt terms "sometime tomorrow" is really "within 72 hours give or take a day (mostly give)" to the rest of us.

And I still say it is most likely legal stuff since that's the only time I could think of where absolute silence is preferable to at least acknowledging the situation. if you don't say anything they can't use it against you.

Even a personal tragedy can be touched upon with a simple "hey we're going through some stuff but will be back after it's over with" or "we experienced a loss and are taking time to be with our loved ones" or something.

I'm wondering if maybe someone wants a piece of the action. If he worked on some part of goblins while on the clock for someone else or if his crazy ex contributed something early on and they want what they think is due to them, perhaps.

Yeah, though now that just worries me all the more. What do the shredded comics in the background mean?
Well, the thing is either stylized or holding veins in its hands. Heart issues? The shredded comics could be from the past or could be from the future.

All conjecture at this point.

What if they're both? I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that this wasn't a data loss issue. I can imagine that, if Thunt lacked adequate backup procedures, that something like a lightning strike could have caused enough loss to cause the downtime.
