Has anyone found jungle or Savannah biomes? Specifically I am looking for jungle tree and acacia tree saplings.

I made a portal by my place last night, girded my loins (because my loins needed girding), and went through expecting to have to fight my way to the network. Nope. Came out at the spawn hut.

Cranky had the same problem. Built a portal, ended up at @Eriol's place. I'll probably have the same problem when I hook up.

I remember seeing acacia somewhere, but I was hoofin' it for my life at night to get back home, so you'll forgive me if I don't remember where.
I was all like: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAooh, acaciaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

There is a pretty good chance that I am way too easily amused.
If you start breeding them with spiders, I'm outta there.

Come to my village! It's partially in a savanna.

So lots of acacia. Also available are oak and dark oak just outside the fence line.
If you free a villager from its house, please re-pen it. I don't trust the little buggers to not go out and get bit (again), or fall into the cave system next to the fields.

<3! I will stop by there later.

I lost one of my villagers last night. He was actually useful. Now he's gone and I have to get the other two to making with the loving and make a new baby.

One of the advantages to making a village from scratch is that you can build where they can go BEFORE the game creates them.

I'm going to have to look up to see if villagers can be leashed and led, I'd like them to all be in the same house... what to make with the making more villagers... but leaving them to their own devices to get together just seems like an exercise in frustration.

OK, went to Dirona's place and got some acacia saplings and another color of bunny to add to my hoard. Still looking for jungle trees. :)

Nope.
It is not possible to attach villagers or hostile mobs by in-game methods, but it can be done by modifying the region save files or by NBT editing. These methods can even be used to attach mobs to other mobs. Players andbats cannot be attached to leads by any method.

@Dei - I usually push a minecart into them and then push them where I want to have them go. It's one of the least headache ways to move them (Though you have to build a hut around them at night to prevent zeds from getting them).

About the deal with msoft, I'm torn about it. I would like to hope that they will continue with supporting the community and modders, but I fear that they will milk it for as much money whilst killing everything that made it the reason they spent 2.5billion on it. Saw it with other IP's that they acquired. I'm just glad that someone like EA didn't get their hands on it, but they still wouldn't have offered that much for it.
Jeesh, I wish I could get that much for something I built/made. I have a few plans for that much money, shoot with just 20mil I could do a few things that would change way the world works. But whatever. Just slightly ticked about today that's all and needed to vent a little.

Also, a little bird (seed -867425593092740366) told me that there's jungle around:

0, -3000 (this is north of us)
-1000, 4500 (far south, and some west, but bigger)

And Mushroom isle: 7500, 2000 (EAST, and south), or 11000, 2000 (EAST EAST, and south)

I do! I'll try to get it posted by noon.

I think I'm going to give up on trying to get overviewer to look up player names. I think I'll hard code them in, but I'll need coords for everyone. This will also give me a chance to tag people more than once if they have multiple builds. So, either pm me or post the coords you want marked and what you want them called.

the bigger jungle is actually probably closer, but it's going to be a boating trip probably. Or a nether hop. Probably a nether hop. :p

And there's now jungle wood, cacao growing (on a couple of jungle wood), and 4 jungle saplings at spawn. Not from nether travel, but from sailing there by boat.
Ooooh, I love farming Jungle Trees. I may just have to travel to spawn and turn those 4 saplings into a few stacks of saplings.

Is making normal trees faster for sapling purposes? I would guess so, but I'm unsure.
Well, if you just wan oak saplings, yeah. In fact, getting jungle saplings is a pain, because it takes 4 saplings to grow a tree, and a tree may yield fewer than 4 saplings from all it's leaves... like the one I just grew did... Dammit!

Jungle trees do not "require"quadding.
Whoops, got it confused with Dark Oak. Still, if you plant Jungle tree saplings singly, you will not get back a sapling for every tree. They don't produce enough leaves per tree in their smaller single sapling growth model. The drop rate for jungle saplings is too low, if you ask me.

So are you saying that because I took a nap this afternoon I need to go get my own trees? ;) (Not that I didn't plan to anyways)

Also, if anyone cares, I have a sort of path to a blocked off blaze spawner near my portal. If you leave the tunnel from the 2nd iron door from my portal and go straight, there will eventually be a set of stairs carved into the left side of a fortress path.

Nah, there are 5 jungle saplings in the spawn hut, and I plan to place more there soon.

I'll probably drop off some blaze rods as well, since my sword of looting netted me a stack of them.

I popped a giant tree at spawn, and my axe was too broken to even attempt to cut it down, so it's still there if someone else wants lots of jungle wood. :p

I only took 2 saplings to start and made some more for myself, so there's still some in the box as well.
