What are you playing?

Apparently most 3DS and some 3DS XL can't handle the abuse of Super Smash Brothers and the thumb sticks are breaking off.

I'm kind of suprised this is happening with a Nintendo product. Even the Wiimote issues came not from a design flaw but a use issue.
I think this a YMMV issue based on individual units. If my joystick pad was going to pop off, it would've happened during Kid Icarus: Uprising multiplayer, which I've played a lot of. That is a game that demands hard jamming on the joystick. Smash Bros, less so. You don't need to force it hard to get a movement; the joystick is pretty sensitive.

I'm not defending the hardware issue; that shouldn't be happening and my guess is Nintendo didn't anticipate the difference between the older joysticks and the flat one on the 3DS. I think I'll personally be fine, but now I worry about my wife. I've seen how violent she gets when playing even Soul Calibur.

I should note, I also was talking about an XL. No idea what Kid Icarus: Uprising does to the little ones.

Most 3DS games I can't imagine playing on that tiny original 3DS screen.

I do alright with mine, but I'm probably going to upgrade to a New 3DS XL once they hit the US unless the New 3DS is substantially cheaper.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call: Take all that crap I was saying about FFXIV music? Well, pour that disdain onto FFX-2's music instead. FFXIV's music is fine. FFX-2 is just ... I can't even finish a couple of the songs. It's like someone wanted to ape the sound style of Shin Megami Tensei, but lacked the talent.

As for the game itself, I really enjoy online dueling and the quest medley that replaces dark notes from the first game. Gives the game more of an RPG vibe and lets you have different runs of tracks to play.

Dragonfall is kind of like the Mask of the Betrayer to the Dead Man's Switch campaign: more meaningful, better story, interesting characters, and yet somehow less fulfilling.
Oh, I've played Dragonfall already, but the Director's Cut enhancements all sound sweet enough to merit replaying it (well, even moreso than just playing it again with a different character).

Spider-Man Unlimited: This is an amazingly fun game for what is essentially an endless runner. Beautiful to look at. Responsive controls. Interesting missions.

Ridiculous paywall all but rendering the entire thing useless.

God I hate freemium games so much. I would happily have paid $5 or even $10 just to play the game when I want. Instead I can either take five turns an hour (with a turn generally lasting a minute or two), or I can buy a bunch of credits. Fuck that noise.

Anyone playing Ingress?
I just got started playing, seems interesting. Way too much to figure out though... There's a surprising amount of portals around here, I didn't think there would be. We'll see if it can hold my attention.

Huh, I think I signed up for an invite a long time ago, but never heard back.

I live in a small town, so I'd probably have to drive to Boulder or Denver to find any portals, so I don't really find it worth it.

I do on occasion. It is pretty much digital peeing on trees/marking territory. It can make going out for a walk kinda fun(I don't mind walking as it is but having a mission objective is fun.) However the app eats battery life pretty hard.

You might be surprised, I didn't think there would be any by me either. If you want to check, you can look here.

It pretty much is, but like you said, it's kinda nice to have a reason to go for a walk somewhere. Plus it's a different way to meet new people if you want.

Best part is when you notice similar names rivaling your territory. Though it sucks if they are much higher level then you and can hit your nodes harder than you can theirs.

Theatrhythm Curtain Call: I like that they replaced the weird sentence creation between characters into just having the chibis make silly faces, but ... sometimes those faces don't seem right.
