Movie News & Miscellany

Has anyone heard of this X-Men: Days of Future Past - Rogue Version? Supposedly a different version of the movie with Rogue being a major player. Seems weird that there'd be an alternate version of an entire movie. It was released yesterday.

From what I've heard, it's really just more of a director's cut, longer and with scenes and plots that were originally cut for time or pacing added back in.

Magneto's looking pretty slick, though.

[DOUBLEPOST=1437095756,1437095697][/DOUBLEPOST]Rumors are floating that the Apoc we're seeing isn't the final, post-power drain form, and after he's dined on some Mutants he'll be much bigger and more in line with the one people know from the books.

He's so tiny! Isn't Apocalypse like 8 or 9 feet tall?
I saw quick little photo shop. Add some mouth lines and a bit of size and he looks a lot better.

Too fuckin' purple though, but that could be lighting. He seems more blue on the cover of the magazine.[DOUBLEPOST=1437121868,1437121734][/DOUBLEPOST]

Psylocke looks just fine here too, and Magneto looks rad. Of course, the years long crush I've had on Olivia Munn (and Fassbender for that matter) means it's hard for me to dislike either.

I looked more into it. It seems like it's just an extended edition; the ad I saw made it sound like something else. I need to stop believing ... anything.

It's 'the Rogue cut' just because there was a whole story thread about Rogue that didn't make into the theatrical version.

If they wanted an Apoc that didn't look gaudy, they should have gone with a colour scheme more akin to this:

imo, ofc.

For me, I actually like the look of the armor. It sort of has an Ancient Egypt feel to the touches, which I dig. I think you're right about the color scheme, though.

No, the armour is fine (well, besides the head part) its the colour that just scream at your eyes too hard.

And no face lines... for shame.

I remember being really confused as a kid when I picked up an issue of X-Men or something and all of a sudden Psylocke looked Asian and had psionic hand daggers. At the time I thought it was just the artist drawing her differently, didn't realize I missed a ton of backstory.

Was Psylocke was the "patient zero" of 90's comics?
I can't necessarily speak to that, considering when I think '90s I think "Dark and Gritty", but she certainly was swooped up by the ninja fad. She was originally the psychic sister of Brian Braddock (also known as Captain Britain), but then she was abducted by the Hand and her mind was transferred into the comatose body of a skilled ninja named Kwannon.

If that purple guy is Apocalypse, that's terrible. I thought I'd never seen that X-Men character before, but @lien's picture--I have seen that character. But the movie screenshot version was unrecognizable to me.

So at first I was thinking why, but then I realized there are throngs of kids that go to a convention centering around the game. This movie could be two hours of the PC walking in a straight line and it would make billions.

They could just compile the hrs of gameplay from Youtube and put a sound track on it. Kids love that stuff. And, by kids, I mean me. Let's play Minecraft!
