Video Game News and Miscellany

Mrrf.
I can't even keep up with my dailies in Hearthstone, much less the hour or so each day I would need for Heroes. I don't think I'm gonna have time for Overwatch.

Anyone want demo codes for Triforce Heroes? You can only play with three people, and the online times for the demo are only at specific times this weekend ... and I only have two codes since I thought I could at least play solo, but nope--three players only.

I won't be buying this game, but anyone who wants codes, I have two to give. Fuckin hell, Nintendo.

TotalBiscuit's cancer is back. It's popped up in his liver. His doctors have told him it's inoperable, and that he has 2-3 years to live.

:(

Fuck cancer.

I just went on the Gamefaqs forum to see what they are saying, and on the first fucking page we have a guy who goes "Why is everyone so upset? None of you know this guy. Celebrity worship at its best". It only got worse from there.
I pray for the day I will be able to punch someone through a pc screen.

I didn't even know he had ever had cancer in the first place.

He had bowel cancer, and had been getting treated for it over the past year. After his last operation, they had thought he had beaten it, because there were no signs of any remaining cancer. But now his CT scans show cancer in his liver, and they're saying it's incurable.

Vermintide looks kinda neat. It's like a Warhammer version of Left 4 Dead, I guess? Not my thing, personally, but I know many on here would probably dig it.

I've posted about it before, and it does look very interesting to me, but so much of it is SO GODDAMNED DARK. I'm reminded of late 90s gaming where every goddamned game was pitch black all the freakin time. Serious Sam was such a breath of fresh air with its brightly lit, colorful environments.

To be fair, it's Warhammer. They literally came up with grimdark.

I guess I just prefer my grimdark more grim and less dark.
The video Nick posted is the first I've watched of Vermintide, and it didn't look any darker than Left 4 Dead 2 to me, especially since it showed off a daylight map as well. If the game is mostly lit like that promo video, I'd be fine with it.

Then I watched a PC Gamer video of gameplay, and I couldn't see much of anything. I'm not sure if that's Youtube's compression ruining what's visible to the player, or if the game is actually that dark. If it ends up looking that dark, it'd be awful.

Not that I'm likely to be able to play it either way, since I don't have a system to run it.

If it was gameplay of the Beta, the beta didn't have the finished lighting in it.

From: Why Did Hideo Kojima Leave Konami?

On Friday, October 9th, Hideo Kojima left the Tokyo offices of Konami, the video-game company where he had worked since 1986, for the last time.
So we'll likely not being hearing much anything about Kojima until December at the earliest, because that is when his non-compete clause expires. But I suspect we're ether going to see him found a studio or join another big name once it happens.

So apparently Konami is claiming that Kojima's just "going on vacation" after MGS5 and not leaving the company. I'll believe it if/when he comes back from this "vacation".

One Life

A survival FPS ala Day Z and other games. Except in this game, if you die? You are locked out the game forever.

And they plan to sell it for $10.

I don't see how anyone would think this is a good idea.
