Apparently it is definitely not a direct sequel, and some are speculating that it is only tangentially related to Cloverfield
HOW?! How the hell did JJ Abrams keep a Cloverfield sequel a secret up until just two months before the release?
It takes place in the same world (confirmed by JJ), but the way it tells the story makes it less a sequel and more a spin-off. It's not about the monster itself, or fleeing from it / fighting it, but instead a thriller about isolation (and imprisonment) following the supposed end of the world. Most of the movie takes place inside that bunker.Apparently it is definitely not a direct sequel, and some are speculating that it is only tangentially related to Cloverfield
Ah, my guess then is that corporation (who inadvertently created Cloverfield) did some more nasty-wasty stuff. It takes place in the same world (confirmed by JJ), but the way it tells the story makes it less a sequel and more a spin-off. I'm most intersted in the fact that it's directed by Dan Trachtenberg, formerly of the Totally Rad Show, director of the fan film Portal: No Escape, and was briefly attached to a canceled Y: The Last Man movie.HOW?! How the hell did JJ Abrams keep a Cloverfield sequel a secret up until just two months before the release? He must have had the crew buried under the set, and then the people who buried them were buried ... Just, holy shit. I'm honestly more astounded by it having been kept a secret in the internet age than anything else about the movie. It's not found footage or shaky-cam, so that's a plus:
It's probably been years since anyone cared what he had to say about anything other than Star WarsHOW?! That's not how being famous works. Or the movie industry ...It's probably been years since anyone cared what he had to say about anything other than Star Wars
No. I want to make love to that trailer. It's probably been years since anyone cared what he had to say about anything other than Star Wars
Is she wearing a wedding dress sweater?http://comicbook.com/2016/01/19/deadpool-hyuna-pose-together-for-high-cut-magazine/
Deadpool posing with K-pop idol HyunA.
Yes, yes she is.Is she wearing a wedding dress sweater?
That's sort of my take on it. It's clear they want this to be the "Guardians of the Galaxy of DC", but none of the characters were especially charming during the trailer which made it fall flat. It doesn't look as bad as I THOUGHT it was going to be but that doesn't mean it looks GOOD ether.Hmm... I guess I don't hate it, but it's not psyching me up. It's like my brain has already decided not to care about this movie.
Looks better than Batman v SupermanUgh. No.
This.Looks better than Batman v Superman
Agreed, doesn't look awful, but doesn't make me care.Hmm... I guess I don't hate it, but it's not psyching me up.
Yes, and the use of Bohemian Rhapsody seemed desperate. That's sort of my take on it. It's clear they want this to be the "Guardians of the Galaxy of DC", but none of the characters were especially charming during the trailer which made it fall flat.
That doesn't look as bad as BVS- Dawn of Grim, but I feel manipulated by the Rhapsody. It's clearly there to get you excited and make you see this as a fun romp but I still didn't see many day shots so.... DC grim dark still in effect.Ugh. No.
I can recommend an OTC antifungal, if you wish. He's growing on me!
Looks better than Batman v Superman
What would help if they took 20 seconds to identify the characters... and yes, the Harley Quinn is off.Things I liked about the trailer:
- Music
Things I hated about the trailer:
I'll pass on this one. Not excited about it at all.
- Harley Quinn's voice
- Jared Leto as Joker
- Will Smith? Seriously?
- Looks like it's been done before.
I won't be surprised if this ends up being an enjoyable movie because Will Smith carries the whole thing like Independence Day.I have no probs with Will, in fact, it's the only thing that interested me.
