Games on SALE!

Indeed. I could hardly believe they brought that nonsense back for FF XIV.
Squeenix: "Sure, our games might not make a goddamn bit of sense and aren't really any fun to play anymore, but LOOK AT THE HAIR TEXTURE IN THESE GODDAMN CUTSCENES! And no one has costumes with more belts per square inch!"

Me, just now:

"Oh, an Activision sale on Steam. And there are some games that I'm interested in. Well, let's double check reviews and the forums to make sure they run okay. Just in case.

Prototype! Badly optimized and doesn't run in Windows 10. Well, crap.
Amazing Spider-Man! ...poorly optimized, crashes, especially in Windows 10. Hurm.
Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions. Doesn't run in Windows 10.

Oh well. It was a nice thing to consider. Guess I'll save my money for games that actually fucking work."

Hrm, I don't remember having any performance problems with it in the past, and I doubt it's gotten worse in the last 7 years...

Welp, the worst I can do is buy it and try it. If it doesn't work, I can refund it. So I'm installing it now. I love Prototype and played/beaten it many times. It wouldn't rank high on my list of favourite games, but I greatly enjoyed it. Shame Prototype 2 seems to be a worse mess, optimization-wise. Certainly for anyone - like me - with an AMD card. :/

Prototype 1 works just fine. Prototype 2 is Meh.

Probably the worst of the new transformer games.

Last one before this one was great with an awesome soundtrack.

The one before TFD was Rise of the Dark Spark, which I didn't play but heard nothing but awful things about. The two from High Moon were great (War for/Fall of Cybertron), though a little redundant, but pretty faithful to the good parts of the source material. I haven't had a chance to try Devastation yet, but I enjoy beat 'em ups and the like so I figure it'll be fun for an hour or so here and there. The art style is right out of the 80's and they got almost every original VA they could, which is pretty impressive for Transformer-weebs like me.

Supposedly they want to try and do the whole EU thing that's working wonders for Marvel, like everyone else with nostalgia-inducing IPs seems to be.
