[Gaming] Overwatch (#boycottblizz)

For Christmas I bought myself some boxes. I got all the event skins I wanted out of it! Winston, Torbjorn, Zenyatta, Lucio, McCree, Pharah, and Reaper. That means the only ones I am missing are Mei, Tracer, Roadhog, and Sombra . I also got the Widowmaker Highlight Intro, which I will never, ever see... :p

The last thing I really want is the Symmetra Highlight Intro, and maybe the Mei skin. The rest I can probably live without.

Also the new Brawl... It's like GasBandit's greatest nightmare. I know it's kind of a cheeky event, but with the antarctic map, the night sky, the dozens of Mei's running around, and the terror of being out of ammo and collecting snow knowing any minute an enemy Mei can show up and snowball your rooted ass dead, it feels more like a horror game, even more so when your whole team dies leaving you wandering the halls trying to survive 6 enemy Mei's.

It's kind of a nightmare anyway for that. The first time I tried it, I was just confused. Second time when I understood how it worked, it's probably the most intense this game has been. Everything's one-hit kill, you have to expose yourself to reload the one ammo you have, everyone has an itchy trigger on the ice wall rather than the gun. It's more harrowing than I expect out of this game.

I swear, last night I was spectating a match when I saw one Mei miss her snowball and try to escape the other Mei. The other Mei hunted her, so she ice walled, but the other Mei got around it, so she ice blocked. The other Mei stood there, put up an ice wall blocking the only exit, and just waited for her block to drop. I swear I could feel her terror sweat through the screen.

There's two beds. One is in King's Row, the other is in an apartment just off to the right when attacking Volskaya Industries. When I'm not perpetuating the joke, I know where all the pictures are except for that fish counter.

I am intimately familiar with that one on the bottom left since I like to a stand around as a healer on it while idiots run off and cry.

Yeah, that's what I meant when I said "50 competitive wins." I forgot they changed the point system.

--Patrick
It was never based on wins, it was always based on points. It just used to be 300 instead of 3000, they just inflated everything by a factor of 10.

So Terry Crews was at the Blizzard campus today.

For those that missed it, someone mentioned they should get him to voice the possible next new character (Doomfist) on Reddit, to which Terry himself posted saying he would love to do it. It started a fan push for it to become a reality.

Now, a week or so later, he is meeting the overwatch team and says he is pumped up. While nothing is confirmed, it seems pretty clear what is happening here.

We all know the dad is Reinhardt, there is actually a rather cheeky way Blizzard hinted it, not even counting the new ice fishing spray.

You know I realized I can probably just tell you guys, even if you don't care, it's fun to speculate.

So next time you check out the hero gallery, check out the names of the basic skins for Anna and Reinhardt. If you never noticed, all the basic skins mostly share a theme, like Mei is flowers, DVA is fruit, Zenyatta is elements, Tracer is hot colors, Junkrat is decay themes, and Roadhog is pretty much just terms for beaches or New Zealand, etc.

Ana has base skins named after precious stones, like Peridot, Turquoise, Citrine, and Garnet.

Reinhardt has base skins named after various metals, like Cobalt, Brass, Copper, and Viridian.

These both fit them well.

Now go to Pharah, and her base skins are Copper, Titanium, Emerald, and Amethyst. You may notice that two of those are metals, and two are precious stones. No other hero has a crossover of elements like that, and zero share a skin name, yet Pharah shares themes with both Ana and Reinhardt, and even "shares a name" with him in that they both have a skin called "Copper".

Now with the fishing spray, the evidence is falling more and more into place. No wonder they both love custom power armors.

BTW, think I am reaching a bit? Well let's focus on the one name they share, "Copper". It was the discovery of the malleable yet tough nature of Copper that lead to the development of metal tools / weapons and thrust us into the Bronze Age, making it in essence "The father component of metallurgy". ;)
