I wonder sometimes what would happen if they set up an ostensibly “intelligent” robot that really just had a remote actress as the “brains” of it. Would the user still treat it like crap if its reactions were more believable*?

Definitely yes. In some cases, some guys would probably get off on being able to abuse something that reacted believably, consequence-free. People are, in general, shit.

I don't have any problem with porn...it's just that some common themes are stupid. Like ass-slapping and choking. It doesn't do a thing for me, and it seems rather hateful to the woman.

There seems to be a lot of tropes in porn (and hentai) like these, facials, etc., that seem more like degrading their partner, especially women. I like my porn and sex where both individuals seem to be enjoying it as equals.

Not to say people can't get off to fetishes involving role play and D/S, but these seem like random things thrown into general sex to degrade rather than part of the over-all people atmosphere.

Hell, I'm just glad Hentai moved away from where it was in the early 90s, when as often as not, the female ended up getting literally torn to shreds by the tentacle demon. Kind of a boner killer.

I've read that story.
It didn't end well for the woman.
To explain, the guy was feeling inadequate and so had adjusted his bionics to be well beyond human limits, but then got carried away.
