I'm guessing that, like Sipha Belnades (Cypher Fernandes), that's just an artefact of translating from the japanese phonic symbols on a 1-to-1 basis.

Anyone want to try and make sense of them?

Like Sernandez is clearly Fernandes.

Bonzalez is Gonzales.

Wesrey is Wesley, since japanese has that whole r=l thing.

Chamgerlain is Chamberlain.

Heh, Shown Furcotte is Shawn Furcoat, which is funny even when written right.
