Aislynn's listening to the Seattle City Council meeting. Here are some of the fun statistics that have been reported in the public comments period:
* Officers fired over 100 flash bang grenades into the protesters in an eight minute period.
* Officers fired four flash bang grenades into a clearly marked medical tent, while medics were working on an injured person.
* Officers kindly and politely took the man into custody that drove into the crowd and shot someone trying to stop him.
* Officers or other officials appear to be building an 11 foot tall wall to separate West and East Capitol Hill.
* Officers fired a flash bang grenade at a journalist's back, as he stood up against a dumpster, knocking him unconscious and requiring him to be dragged away by medics.
Meanwhile, council members are actually continuing to try to derail the meeting, saying things like "we have other things to discuss, let's cut the public comment period shorter," "this isn't getting us anywhere, let's talk about some of the good things that are going on in the city," and more. I'm glad I got out of Seattle when I did, I just wish so many of my personal friends weren't on the front lines without me to back them up. I feel so bloody helpless from almost 500 miles away.
