What are you playing?

We do. I’m looking for a PC game because he thought it was awesome that I got so we could game together.

They may be getting a gaming desktop to share, but we have limitations now based on his laptop.

Stardew Valley, Don't Starve Together, Torchlight 1/2, and if you fancy shooting zombies, Left 4 Dead 2 are all good co-op games with gentle system requirements.
Also Battleblock Theater and Pit People.

Co-op please
Human Fall Flat
Don't Starve Together
Borderlands 1 & 2 (not the "enhanced" though, I think the requirements are higher)
Viscera Cleanup Detail(? - not sure if co-op is LAN or single PC)
Journey (more about spectacle/wonder than silly)
Biped
Unravel 2 (This is a good choice for puzzle/explore and storytelling)
Any of the Lego games that allow multiplayer (Lego Marvel Heroes, Lego Jurassic World, etc)
Sanctum (okay I'm running out of ideas now)

I love the Lego games, but they are not low requirement games. My previous gaming rig before the upgrade struggled to play some of them.

I admit, I just assumed they were lower requirement after seeing people play them even on something as old as a 2010 iMac*. But I guess the newer games do have higher requirements, they must not just reuse the same engine for all of them.

*which means not just 2010-era hardware BUT also the additional handicap of running on macOS.

Giving FF14 another shot. It's clicking more with me this time. I'm going to assume that that's because I'm deep in the depression tank and mindless MMOing is something that I totally take to when I'm feeling like this.

Rambling around as a handsome wizard (thaumaturge) named Frednando, after my first D&D character.

This will mean nothing to those of you who've played it but the training quests at level 15 to teach you your job in dungeons are fucking wonderful. That's something EVERY MMO should have had.

Oops, the main quest now wants me to do a dungeon.

Not in the right state state of non-anxiety to do a pick-up dungeon so I guess that's all for now for me.

Yeah, all dungeons that aren't "decimal" (ones that sync you to 50/60/70/80) are generally required for story progression with a few exceptions. At the point of the game you're playing, it's completely mindless. You won't even have a proper "rotation" until 45-50 and things like battle mechanics don't really start popping up until Sunken Temple of Qarn. DPS ques kind of suck in 14? I definitely recommend trying out Tank and Healer classes, if only for the shorter lines.

As for myself... I'm in my last day of Skybuilder Rankings in Ishgard Restoration for FF14. I'm currently 6/7th on my server in Fishing and I'm hoping to maintain that until 2am tonight for the unique title. So I've got... 14 hours of fishing ahead of me.

I haven’t played in forever, but I preferred making money, crafting, gathering and having a huge moogle palace home to anything else.

Not a good sign lol.

Guys, play Hades. If you don't like roguelikes (like me) it's enjoyable because of the great polish on the game dialogue/music/artwise, thanks to being a Supergiant Games product. If you like roguelikes, the gameplay is pretty intuitive and you can mix and match stuff so you basically don't run out of options to play runs with.
Remember this?

I refuse! When it isn't Early Access I will play.
Pony up, @Frank ! Hades 1.0 released yesterday, on Steam, EGS and the Switch.

It's stunning how making things portable and not sharing changes my gaming habits. My kids kept trying to get me to play Skyrim on the Switch, but I didn't have time to really invest in it and fight with the kids over time with the Switch. I've had the Switch Lite for a little over two weeks and am over 50 hours into it now.

It’s my first time ever playing PoE on the first day of a league. I wasn’t able to play straight through as things came up here, but I will be 40ish and through the first trial when I’m done shortly.

There are people in maps and near 90. WTF? They also announce every single time the first time a map or zone is entered or a level is achieved. Spam!

I’m playing a Deadeye and it’s really fun! Heists are also awesome. The other thing that’s a pleasant surprise is that your levels (for decorations so not game breaking)
with the various masters is saved.

Much like Diablo III, there are those people who have already planned out their ascension ahead of time, taken the day off, and who probably have a bucket next to their computer station JIC.

True. Their priorities are different than yours.
I'll bet most of them are the sort who jump in on discussions threads with "First!" all the time, too.

That is disturbing. Why didn’t his friend stage an intervention ASAP?

Also I hope the dudes at 90 in 5 hours are Tysons not the rest of us leveling and taking our time to enjoy Heists!

I'm really enjoying FF14 now. I have a black mage at level 40. This road to 70 buff is annoying because I'm leveling so fast that the main quest is only level 24. At least the dungeons are level scaled and groups are pretty fast to form. The dungeons so far have been pretty underwhelming with Ifrit being the only thing that stands out.

It'll feel that way until you get to heavensward. If you have any interest in crafting, the road to 70 buff is great for leveling crafter jobs

Most trials (8-mans) WILL be fairly cool and will remain so for the entire game. They are definitely the highlight of the game.

Oh and it's bullshit that fire 1 + isn't fira and firaga.
There is literally a small book about WHY they name spells this way in one of the dungeons. Long story short: naming spells that way didn't make any sense for people who didn't already understand the spell nomenclature, but going Cure 1 -> Cure 2 -> Cure 3 -> Cure 4 makes sense to EVERYONE, immediately. In other words, it's entirely for people who haven't played other FF games.

Blech, that's a lame-o excuse. I played FF2 and 3 on SNES and 7 on PS1. When they started naming them a and aga and such in 8 I thought it was super shitty. Now as an adult, it adds flavour and it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than 1, 2, 3, 4. People aren't stupid. They could easily figure it out.

I mained a samurai for awhile, and the skill names are all long japanese words and to this day I still don't know what any of them are called. It made talking about samurai rotation really hard, I just thought of them as button 1, button 2, etc.
