The EPIC WIN Thread 3: SON OF EPIC

He’s a 6 am kind of guy and our son is on the bus around 8:30. I sleep like the dead and start work at 9:00 so I missed that ass crack of dawn fun.

PD = Professional Development. It's a teacher workday, kids are off. They get training and such and generally just a break from having to deal with the hellspawn students.

I'm assuming "hoyrs" is a typo of "hours." If so, how early do you get up that there are hours before you take your kid(s) to school, @HCGLNS? Or did you already drop them off?
Get up at 6.
Wake son up at 7.
Go to work at 7:20
Son gets bus at 8:15
Reading twitter on break at 10, notice tweet from school board about PD day.

But in other news,

:notes:I got McDonalds and you don't have none.:notes:

My Eddie Murphy reference seems to be missed by many readers. Am I out of touch with the Halforumites of today? Have I been passed by? No, no it's them that are wrong.

Been practicing for months for the CDCA ADEX examination (Endodontics/Prosthodontics portion). I've been getting up at 5am so i can get to clinic at 6 so I could practice before seeing patients. It's a grueling 7 hour, $2400 exam covering 4 dental procedures:

Endodontic access of tooth #14 (Left 1st maxillary molar)

Endodontic access and complete obturation of tooth #8 (Right central incisor)

Ceramic crown preparation of #9 (Left central incisor)

#3-5 Bridge with tooth #3 (right maxillary first molar) being a cast metal prep and #5 (right 1st maxillary premolar) being a porcelain-fused metal crown prep.

And I just found out that I passed.

Thats huge. CDCA ADEX is a licensure requirement. It's also validation that I've actually been learning something this whole time. I didn't have a ton of confidence that I was going to pass after taking the exam, so seeing those 'pass' results is a huge relief.

Hobo drives home.

"Do doo doo gonna eat leftovers tonight doo doo doo, gonna fry some porkchops too doo doo, doo doo, make a salad too too too"

Oh, light is yellow, slowing down, slowing down and stop and now the light is red.

HONK!!!!!!

Seriously dude did you just honk at me for not running a red? Okay....

Advanced green for the left turn comes on, still red for me.

HONK!!!!!

Seriously dude it's still red. Oh and now your waving at me to run the red.

Okay Pikachu, time to get angry and show this thimbledick driving that massive Karenmobile (oversized cream coloured SUV) what you can do.

And green.

Electric car go bye bye. I'm up the hill, through the S turn and on the straightaway to the highway on ramp.

Buh bye thimbledick.

But wait, what's that in my rearview mirror, it's the Karenmobile and they're closing fast!

400m
300m
200m
100m

And they're passing on the right to get to the off ramp first!

Good for you thimbledick, good for you.

Back to porkchops! Doo doo doo.

Merge on the highway, uh oh, gotta slow down and get over to the left, because it looks like the cops have pulled over the Karenmobile!

I woke up stupidly early this morning due some really bad or disturbing dreams. So I decided to go for a long bike ride before work. And as I've been doing lately, I filmed it with my GoPro. Behold as I mumble nonsense to myself and complain about my hands being cold!

Note that this is an unlisted video, so it's only available to watch if you have the link.

Here's my first video I filmed from last year, which was a ride all the way to my yoga rock, and a hike to said rock. This one was filmed with a 4:3 setting, which is why it's not in wide screen (which I didn't realize until after I'd already filmed the damn thing).

Not how I expected you to sound, but now I’ll always here you when I read your stuff. I think I had a little more “Canadian” accent before, but I’ve already swapped whatever it was with your real voice.
I've attempted to sound "more Canadian," for laughs but I just sound like I'm auditioning for a part in Fargo, dontcha know, eh?

Saw a tweet about how Portal 2 is a decade old, which made me realize:

@LittleKagsin and I started our friendship 10 years ago!

I had no idea such an epic friendship was starting when I had that stupid cosplay contest. Kags is the best thing to happen to me in the last decade.

Since the links to those old pics are dead, here they are again. The cosplay that started our friendship, LittleKagsin as Figment the Dragon:

I love and adore you Pezzle!!

I could’ve never guessed the friendship we would still have all these years later!! And I’m really glad! We’ve been through so much and changed in countless ways, I’m honored we’ve there for each other through it all.:)

The cataract lens in my left eye was getting really bad with PCO, which is basically a film starting to cover the back of the lens. This was making it especially hard to read text whether webscreens, books or street signs, and bright lights like headlights and stoplights . Basically I was at the point where I'd have to blow up most websites to 150+ mag to read most of them, squint out of my right eye to read street signs, etc.
Went in to the VA was out in 2ish hours, the Ophthalmologist said the procedure usually takes 10 minutes and he was done in about 3. He said that was probably the fastest and easiest he's ever gotten the whole exam/procedure done. *probably helps I'm an aging hermit and not a curmudgeonous codger like most of their patients with cataracts.*
Other than dilation effects . . .

I had cataract surgery in my left eye about 10 years ago. I'm really happy with the results, though that eye is a lot more sensitive to bright light than the other. But I try to avoid the sun whenever possible anyway, so... “¯\_(ツ)_/¯“

*edit*
I've had cataract surgery in both eyes a bit ago.

It's the build up of eye phlegm. I have a little on my right eye, but they don't want to touch that unless that gets bad since it's had retina reattachment surgery.

On a completely unrelated note, I once had a friend named Valeria, but the "v" sound doesn't exist in Mandarin, so a lot of people here in Taiwan had trouble pronouncing her name, and they would often end up calling her "malaria" instead, to the point where she's just accepted "malaria" as a variant of her name.
