Eh, I get it, while most might mock them, that ends up on the wrong subreddit and suddenly it's doxing and death threats, which aren't appropriate even for people who think God is limited by gene... recognition? I guess? Whatever, I'm too tired to figure on that
So, you heretics are denying an omniscient God?
What's more annoying is blanking out these idiots' identity. They've made public statements, so we have every right to know who they are so that we may give them the mocking and shaming they so richly deserve.
Yeah not everybody should be a public figure. I've got no idea what kind of mental health issues anyone has had or how they've had to cope with it. I express my spiritual side with satanism so I can't judge anybody for their religionEh, I get it, while most might mock them, that ends up on the wrong subreddit and suddenly it's doxing and death threats, which aren't appropriate even for people who think God is limited by gene... recognition? You know, I'm thinking BEING DEAD would interfere with protein transcription far more than a vaccine ever would, but God can still recognize your unvaccinated, decomposed corpse just fine? OK.
God takes care of his own. For some christians it really is a death cult actively calling for the end of the worldYou know, I'm thinking BEING DEAD would interfere with protein transcription far more than a vaccine ever would, but God can still recognize your unvaccinated, decomposed corpse just fine? Telling someone to love their neighbor as they do themselves becomes a lot scarier once you realize they want to die.it really is a death cult actively calling for the end of the world
Naval bases. Explains a lot, doesn't it?I really wonder where some of you went to church.
More than you know.Naval bases. Explains a lot, doesn't it?
I tried to enlist and they just stopped talking to me at all after seeing my health record. And this was before there was anything about my depression in itMore than you know.
If I had to do it all over again? Not on your fucking life. Got to see places and do things I never would've been able to otherwise, but TBH, it was seven years of me being downright miserable.
I just checked, and apparently the rev that was there when I was 8yrs old is still running the place.I really wonder where some of you went to church.
I'd watch that porn parodyJebus Crimmis
Halforums has always had some of that r/atheism going on.I really wonder where some of you went to church.
There is something inherent in humanity that draws us to spirituality and religion, and people gotta learn how to find a healthy outlet for itHalforums has always had some of that r/atheism going on.
Oh I'm just salty because I'm sick, just whining that sometimes here it feels like people only see weird reductionist versions of religion, which is the whole community of IQ190 toddlers in r/atheismThere is something inherent in humanity that draws us to spirituality and religion, and people gotta learn how to find a healthy outlet for it
Reductionist arguments in general bug me. It's a silly way to think about thingsOh I'm just salty because I'm sick, just whining that sometimes here it feels like people only see weird reductionist versions of religion, which is the whole community of IQ190 toddlers in r/atheism
Yeah, we kinda scared off steinman due to that.Halforums has always had some of that r/atheism going on.
What part of religion says that vaccines make it so god cant recognize you?Oh I'm just salty because I'm sick, just whining that sometimes here it feels like people only see weird reductionist versions of religion, which is the whole community of IQ190 toddlers in r/atheism
I mean young earth Creationism and intelligent design creationism are different so who knows. The latter is basically just claiming a god exists but science describes the created design. It includes the big bang theory, evolution, etc. I think it was all created, but the creation includes the big bang, 4.5 billion years of earth hanging around, etc. I myself think evolution's case is overstated (not that it doesn't happen) and I'm pretty scientifically literate, but even saying that will get people labelling me an anti-science nutjob, while I would say, no it's a reasonable stance based on the evidence. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Yeah, we kinda scared off steinman due to that.
Mind you, steinman also believed in Creationism which...I don't know. He was a man of science, wasn't he? I can't fathom how a man of science could possibly believe in that.
None? I wasn't defending that claim, I was being snarky about folks here calling religion a death cult and linking that to the golden rule. What part of religion says that vaccines make it so god cant recognize you?
Ok this is actually pretty insulting. Live and let live is nice, but one of our two political parties is trying to force everyone to live by Christian morals whether they want to or not.Meh. My youngest stepson is a rabid athiest--meaning he has to loudly and vociferously rail against Christianity every chance he gets. Me, I think people who do that have some kind of hangup--like those ex-smokers who have to be super obnoxious about smoking now that they're on the other side of it. Like, they're shouting to the world, in order to keep convincing themselves.
I always say I would like Christians a lot more if they acted more christ-like.I used to feel the same as Tin, mostly. But lately I think the laws of society are in place as a way of upholding racist institutions while religious laws are a way of upholding sexist institutions. One is to control people of color, one is to control women (and also exclude people of differing lifestyles).
That may not be how it necessarily started, but it's very much what they are used for today, and have been for a long time.
If Jesus is/was real, he'd be horrified at those who proclaim to love him and then ignore his teachings.
Nothing pisses off a republican more than accurately describing what Jesus would do, and then encouraging them to follow suit.I always say I would like Christians a lot more if they acted more christ-like.
Unless Emrys is lying about her age, you already had to.Sheesh, am I going to have to turn in my libertarian card?
When you see the heavens and the earth, you get this sense that this could not have come from random chance.Yeah, we kinda scared off steinman due to that.
Mind you, steinman also believed in Creationism which...I don't know. He was a man of science, wasn't he? I can't fathom how a man of science could possibly believe in that.
It's been a rough few years. But when it comes to agitating hypocrites about their morals, remember the wise words of Faith Petric: You ain't done nothin' if you ain't been called a Red.Sheesh, am I going to have to turn in my libertarian card? I mean, I did it more as a rhetorical exercise to antagonize an annoyance, but the fact remains that I did go to bat for socialism as a Christian tenet.
Unfortunately, "we" scared Steinman off not simply because he felt we did not respect his beliefs, but because "we" also wished his children would get cancer (and that came straight from the man himself). I'd take Steinman and his Mormonism any day of the week, despite not believing a single drop of it, over the toxic bile that passes for common 'civilized' discourse on a certain few of our subforums.Yeah, we kinda scared off steinman due to that.
You're also self-described not a Christian, so why would you? Describing a trait belonging to a group doesn't mean you're suddenly one of them.Sheesh, am I going to have to turn in my libertarian card? I mean, I did it more as a rhetorical exercise to antagonize an annoyance, but the fact remains that I did go to bat for socialism as a Christian tenet.
Well, moreso because I was advocating socialism for someone whose goup is tacitly linked to capitalism. You're also self-described not a Christian, so why would you? Describing a trait belonging to a group doesn't mean you're suddenly one of them.
Hey, she's moving to Texas, I'm not moving to CanadaUnless Emrys is lying about her age, you already had to.
