Most of those are not illegal.
Maybe in Belgium, but around different parts of the US all of these things are definitely illegal somewhere. Maybe not with huge penalties, but still. For example, only within the last couple of years was it not illegal for me to collect rainwater.

Why?

Oh you sweet summer child. Only the pillow tag and the USB thing are outright jokes. Everything else someone either has gotten in trouble for, or has to jump through huge hoops to do.

  • Children have been fined for running lemonade stands without a business license.
  • Drinking raw milk isn't illegal, but selling it in most places is.
  • I'll assume you understand about building permits, tax law, business incorporation and all the hassles involved in those.
  • Collecting rainwater is illegal regulated in some areas 11 states, and not following the regulations can carry heavy fines.
  • Hairdressers/barbers are heavily regulated in every state I know of, mainly for public health reasons, but it's also quite a racket.
  • Washing your car in your own driveway is illegal in some areas, because of water usage and water contamination issues.
  • A lot of Homeowners Associations in the US have long list of rules, and a lot don't like food crops being grown (it lowers property values), and even decorate gardens may be regulated. I wouldn't be surprised if there are some governments with laws, too, but HOA agreements will result in people getting taken to court.
  • Many major cities in the US have laws against feeding the homeless, or at least regulating when, where, how often, etc. It's not just health and safety rules, either, some of these are explicitly "If you feed the homeless, you're just encouraging them" type laws.
EDIT: Fixed a bit about rainwater after googling. It's not outright illegal anywhere, but you have to follow the law in how you do it, how much you collect, and what you do with the water you collect.

The main argument in states that regulate rainwater accumulation is that allowing people to collect their rainwater will disrupt the natural water cycle by keeping the it from going back into the ground. Also, some states had archaic laws regarding water rights and property lines that required the two concepts to be separated, and allowing people to harvest their rainwater would negate water rights of someone else (I should point out that the last part has not been enforced in a long, long time and is no longer relevant).

I can definitely tell you that the libertarian, freedom-loving state of Texas very strictly and forcefully mandates all hairdressers be licensed by the state.

As I often say, there's no bureaucrat like a Texas bureaucrat.

However, it is legal to harvest rainwater here. So we got that going for us. Which is nice.

Because the rainwater falling on the state technically belonged to the state, and intercepting it was considered stealing the water from the state. It would be like if the state had installed solar panels and you built solar panels of your own but they shaded the ones belonging to the state.

Not necessarily "funny," exactly. But we also don't have a "Dear God, We Live in a Dystopian Nightmare World Please For the Love of God Make it Stop" thread.

...The sad thing is that the actual explanation is...Pretty correct? I mean, I dunno why Ukraine's the girl in the comparison considering Putin's the bitch and Zelensky needs two trucks to carry his massive balls (to stick with the propaganda meme theme), but otherwise...I've heard much smarter people use much longer words to give less accurate info.

In an interview with Russian state television Thursday, Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin said, considering the situation, “We can't supply the United States with our world's best rocket engines. Let them fly on something else, their broomsticks, I don't know what.” (Voice of America)

Don't liches need to bind their souls into a phylactery though?

Also, a Facebook friend of mine once posted this image on her wall. We knew each other from the MUD we played, in which we were in the same guild, the Necromancers. Specifically, she was in the Lich subguild, and as a result she posted this picture with the caption, "Fellow liches, rise up!" And there were people in the comments absolutely offended that anyone would suggest 1) that their Messiah was a lich, and 2) that she was on the same level as Jesus.

Well, what level was she?
