It was considerably better than I anticipated it would be.I can imagine it tastes okay, but ten different liquors mixed together like that? Ugh.

Not to hijack your thread too much Tin, but I have to say that a hard Mountain Dew is actually improved by a shot of vodka. It’s still trash, but a little less so. I might have to try hard Baja Blast with some rum next.Feel up to a challenge?
Hijack all you like I'll look less like an alcoholic if I'm not the only one posting. Not to hijack your thread too much Tin, but I have to say that a hard Mountain Dew is actually improved by a shot of vodka. Have you considered instead the possibility that you may be at least partly demonic in origin? The first, Holy Water, was a mix of lime juice, tequila, and elderflower liqueur. It was hideous, and i tossed it out after my second sip confirmed it wasn't going to get better.
The idea has been expressed to me more than onceHave you considered instead the possibility that you may be at least partly demonic in origin?

It probably didn't help that my recipe card called for 2 oz cognac instead of 1.5 as in most recipes I find onlineAll classic drinks will probably come off as boozy, so get ready for a ride if you’re not used to it. You can’t go wrong with 2 parts booze, 1 part sweet, 1 part sour.
That's about what I was figuring, too. It was boozy, but tasted 'right'Your card is closer to the original recipe, probably, though. Modern sensibilities etc.
Wines used to be less alcoholic on average, cocktails stronger.
Awesome! I was concerned about the chickpeas ruining the taste. Finally remembered to save the liquid when draining chickpeas and we were able to try aquafaba as an eggwhite substitute. It worked great, got the layer of foam and thicker texture but without the awful eggy flavor. It was a little salty at the bottom of the glass, but otherwise I didn't taste chickpeas in the drink, a Leviathan's Kiss from the Gotham City Cocktails book: gin, raspberry syrup, lime juice & rose water. Which tastes horrible with egg in it, so aquafaba is a winner.
