Bummer. I'm not aware of anyone I'd immediately suggest as a replacement mod/admin. Maybe it's me on the outside looking in, but it seems like we are fairly self-regulated. Anyone that does step up shouldn't necessarily come from the core members, but whoever Dave and the other mods believe would be a good fit, but Dave already seems a step ahead of me there.

What part doesn't make sense to you? Moderating, even just posting, takes time and energy. ZenMonkey, more-so than most people, has limited time and energy. More time and energy spent on other pursuits leaves inadequate time to be a mod.

Not to stir up a shitstorm or anything, but I remember a few years back when she posted a goodbye thread and there were a few who jumped on her back for being an attention whore (I was one of them, please forgive me.) It almost seems like she's trying to leave without replicating the old thread, but this thread kinda does that by proxy, and could have been avoided by her posting that she was backing off a bit due to having less time, and leaving it at that.

This leaves me sitting on the proverbial fence, because half of me knows she's a great person, and the other half just thinks this thread is one big cymbal crash for dramatic effect.

I'm so torn.
