Julie's D and D Game!

Julie has a head ache, throat ache, stomach ache, foot ache, back ache, hair ache, bronchitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, the scurvy, and the sniffles.

I don't know, guys :/.

And this will be why my Wednesday games will end at 10 mostly.

I'm terrified of crossing into the other side of that room. Kara was totally awesome though.

Hey Doom, I mean this in the best way, but next week when you come to the game, can you actually come to the game?

Good combat last night, it will be interesting to see how we handle the rest of the room. I suggest killing the priestess first and keeping the elementals at bay then finally the drider. Though, I am unsure if it is a real drider or a Julie creation. We will have to try some monster knowledge checks to find out.

We might not even be able to attack anything beyond what I suspect is a force field UNTIL we fuck up at least one of the statues.

I wanted to be all there but shit just kept popping up, and my new job is taking a lot more out of me than I thought. Plus I had to leave at 9, which made all the other stuff that kept happening more pressing.

I know I know- I'm Kratash/Gaspar.

I'm scheduled for Thursday again next week, but I'm going to talk to them about my hours, because I could've sworn I told them I wasn't available til after 11. I'll just tell them I can't work Thursdays.

I hate this job anyway.

You were on Vent at work?! Best Job Ever!

:p No, I mean beforehand. I understand real life is more important; I'm not a WoW-guildie "games forever!" retard. It was just kinda rude, and I think Julie would've said something had she not been beating herself up (for no discernible reason) about her DMing.

No no, not at work. Just here at the apartment. I absolutely agree it was rude-- I'm by no means brushing it off. I love our games and want to be fully there whenever possible. Just some days, and for some reason recently, I can't be. :(

If the statues are in the force field, how do we hit them?
First Nitko and I perform Monster Knowledge checks to see if we can determine what they are along with their vulnerabilities.

Second, If they can be destroyed we nuke only one of them at a time.

If they move about, we separate them into two groups, Kara/Ajaes and Simkin/Ezekiel holding the offensive, Nitko keeping the guys alive, Efi keeping the others at bay.

If we destroy the forcefield, then we nuke the priestesses.

As for the drider, well it's clearly a DM's special, so monster knowledge checks are useless, so just unload everything on it and hope for the best.

Also taking bets on why I'll be distracted/late/have to leave early! :D

Actually, I am scheduled for 10 today, but I'm not supposed to be, so I can go in at 11. Which means I can stay til 10 pm central. After that though, I've taken Thursday off my availability.

The reason I keep missing things is because my girlfriend desperately wants my attention much of the time. Last week she wanted me to help with dinner, plus I had work to prepare for. I felt bad for not spending time with her and didn't want to brush her off for DnD, so I helped her with dinner. Other things kept happening too, but it was mostly dinner and preparing for work.

This time, I had to explain to her that you guys were really unhappy last week, and that I wanted to be able to pay attention this time, and I arranged it so that I could go to work an hour later. So she cooked this awesome wonderful dinner that was delicious, while I was sitting in here playing a game. I felt bad, and she even asked me to help with the rice, but I told her I couldn't. I had to help her find something, but I still had to be brief and try to come back quickly. When it was finally done I took a few moments to thank her, give her hugs and kisses, apologize for not being able to help, etc.

It's during those moments that I miss things. When she needs something, or wants something, or does something for me.

I'm not trying to be a jackass, like I'm watching TV, surfing the internet while we play our game. I'm trying to pay attention, and sometimes my attention is pulled away by the girl I love. I'm not trying to blame her, I'm just letting you know that I'm not TRYING to ignore this stuff. [Edit: As I was typing this, she came in to talk for a bit. Again, had to be brief. :|)

At any point possible, I try to say brb.

Sometimes I miss my cue, like with an AoO, because I'm not thinking about it. Immediates are hard to understand sometimes anyway.

I enjoy our game, and I know it looks like I'm pulling a Kratash, but I promise it's not due to lack of interest, it's because I've become busier, and my girlfriend is very lovey and wants my attention all the time, expecially now that we only really get to see each other on our days off, as our work schedules conflict.

Anyway, I didn't mean to get rude with anyone, and I appreciate Julie DMing for us. Her game is very fun and I look forward to playing each week. I'm working on getting everything worked out. I'm trying to explain to the gf that I need to devote my full attention to the game for however many hours it is, and I've taken Thursday off my work availability.

Please accept my apologies and understand that I'm not doing this on purpose.

I'm stating this without intending to insult. I do find it disrespectful not being able to pay full attention to the game as our DM puts a lot of effort to run and slowly things down incredibly for others who are really looking forward to the game every week. But that's just my opinion. It's not my place to judge you or your girlfriend as I do not know your relationship nor your living arrangements though I do find it difficult that this cannot be done as the game only lasts a few hours on a week night, once a week. This game runs only 3 hours TOPS, so I'd love to maximize our time playing.

If you plan to remedy this, that's cool beans. I got a spare shovel. :)

Well, that's what I tell her. I don't know why she's insisted on cooking for the past two Thursdays.

Anyway, she just now came in and made me almost miss my attack granted by Ajes. I told her I need to pay attention, and that you guys were growing unhappy with me because I've been distracted, and she got all sad that "she hadn't been in here," which for the most part she hadn't. But I'm just saying. I'm working on it. Please understand, Julie. *hearts?*

I get interrupted all the time as well. My fiancee knows it's my gaming night and I look forward to it every week and brings me sammiches, snacks and drinks. When she does want to talk, I can give her a moment though I tend to tell her to make it quick if my turn is coming up. She might be doing those nice things because she wants you to spend more time with her, make it up to her the next day. :)
