The EPIC WIN Thread 3: SON OF EPIC

Woot I checked my email when I got up today and I won a sweepstakes from this program at school. I won 15000 points and I can get all sorts of cool stuff. I am psyched.

Seems like you're big into contests lately.
I don't know what other contest I have talked about. I didn't enter this one it was a whole school thing and I was just drawn randomly. Presumably from a hat of some sort.

No every one of those little quiz things I have ever taken has put me in Ravenclaw. That's where I would put myself too.

I'd be the Neville Longbottom.

That guy who's not really good at much and might be the Chosen One but probably not.

I'd be... not in the book. Haha. I'd just be a random student.

I'm Craig from south park who says "no we really don't have to go check shit out that is how those people always get in trouble."

So the wife is reading old classics. She just finished off Gone with the Wind which she really enjoyed so she asked me about other classics she should read.

I suggested The Scarlet Letter. When she asked what it was about, I said "Adultery. It's right up your alley."

Ah, I must be getting better if I can make snide jokes like that.

It's a fine book, Adammon. My only gripe with it was that I disliked the way the bastard daughter was pretty much like a miniature adult. Otherwise, a decent read when it comes to the classics. By comparison, I still dislike Middlemarch and Bleak House; both of them worked like sleeping pills.

Made my mile total for 2010. The final number turned out to be 6552 miles.

I'm not sure if I'm going to try for 7000 this year.

The problem is that the RAAM takes a distance that took me about 5 1/2 months to get and compresses it into 8-9 days. I'm crazy, but not quite that crazy.

My brother's band is freaking amazing, and they seem to have a very good manager. They're all staying at our house for a few days. I get to sit down and get to know my brother's friends and coworkers a little better. They seem like wonderful guys, and they're just so talented and hard-working. I hope they go far. They deserve it! Their show tonight was terrific!

Do they have any CDs/Mixtapes/songs out in the internets, or published, that we could listen to?

My kids just got back from their two week vacation back with my ex-inlaws and my parents. It was their first day back to school and this whole morning went beautifully. After having an amazing New Years Weekend, and a great Christmas, this last couple of weeks has been phenomenal!

So, yesterday, my intention was to go skating down at the harbourfront with a group of people (from Meetup.com). A female friend of mine asked if I wanted some company. So, she came over early in the day and we watched Machete. We were going to go skating after that, but...well, a tickle fight and a make out session later...

...and we spent the rest of the evening and today until the afternoon in bed. :D

As of January 1, I was down a total of 40 pounds since the end of May (30 weeks). During the last four or so, I haven't been able to exercise much due to an achilles tear, and have had to ward off holiday sweets for the last two weeks solid.

So, my next goal is to lose an additional 40 and get into some kind of regular physical activity. :unibrow:

I just spent $500 on a month's worth of groceries. Getting paid once a month sucks ass but my wife is a rock star when it comes to keeping my fat ass fed. Oh, and the kids, too.

Have you considered eating your kids. It's pretty much win win.

In other news, I might be getting hired full time at the place I'm working...full...time.

Eeeeee, thank you! It's my first interview, and I'm very nervous. I got great feedback from my mentor during student teaching, but I've never really taught without a safety net. Oh man, oh man... at least it's second grade. I just came from second grade... so... I probably have this. Auuugh I'm just nervous! A job that doesn't involve serving/preparing food or answering phones, oh man oh man...

I can only have patience with children. Once they become teenagers, I just can't handle them. Little kids are still ignorant to many of the social rules and understandings that we take for granted. It's frustrating but forgivable--more forgivable than a surly know-it-all.
