The EPIC WIN Thread 3: SON OF EPIC

Just take off your sandal and swat at them from the drivers seat.

Then again didn't really work when mom did that... we kind of laughed as we dodged.... though my sister wasn't that lucky most of the time...

As a completely side issue the phrase is "Deep seated" not deep seeded.

Just a little pet peeve.

I finally got a formal contract offer at work for my salary and full employee-ness after weeks of stupid HR wrangling. I was steeling myself for a fight and negotiating up to the number I thought I deserved. Turns out their first offer was 1k more than that! I said yes! Now I can finally think about getting a new car.

Haha at first I missed the drew part and instead of thinking that was an epic win I thought it was a little sad. But with the drew in there that is pretty cool. Well done.

Laissez Le Bon Temps Roulet!
You wanna yammer or you wanna party?

Also, I frickin' LOVE one of the classes I'm teaching now! It's a small group - only four students - compared to the 25-student-class I taught last semester. It's the same course, but the difference is like between day and night. In the big group I had to struggle to get even one of the students to say something, and we wasted a lot of time simply because no one was willing to put their hand up and try to answer.

But in this four-student group every last damn one of them raises their hand when I ask a question, and even the student with the most trouble in English isn't afraid to at least try saying something in English. Hell, we actually have good conversations in class!

I have to say, those four freshmen just about make my day :)

Yeah, classroom management for 25+ kids sucks. Back in the rant thread, those books I recommend to you. A couple of chapters in one of them is directed at that exact topic - how to get kids to ask questions, and how to shut up the one's that get too out of line.

This Old Fashioned is really really good.
You're drinking an OLD FASHIONED?!? Wow. Haven't heard of anyone under the age of 80 liking those. I used to serve them all the time when I bartended at an old Italian restaurant.

I love brandy old fashioned, sour, with cherries. I admit that brandy is an almost all Wisconsin thing. Most places use whiskey.

Stop standing there gawking like a moonshine baby, get off my lawn and finish shoveling my walk whippersnapper.
