What are you playing?

Got my sons Black and White this weekend. I have a feeling I'm going to have more PS3 time for the next month, at least.

Told them they can have the Collector's Edition guides when they both beat their respective version once, the old school way. -grin-

Got Black for me, White for her.

We had to get the Collector's Edition guide since the regular one doesn't have the Unova Pokedex. Really stupid...

Finished Metal Gear Solid 4. I felt robbed, but happy. The entire ending was a Deus Ex and a cop out because
Snake doesn't fucking die
Otherwise I'm very glad I finally got my chance to get through Kojima's final masterpiece.

As for now, I'm still playing DCU:O whenever I have some free time, but my console game of choice right now is Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and let me tell you, I'm having a BLAST. This game is just fun fun fun and I love Nate already.

Picked up Bulletstorm (for around 33 dollars, compared to the 60 bucks it usually sells for, I love exchange rates!) last night, played it on and off last night and today.

It's pretty good, the visuals are great and the skillshot system is interesting. There are also some great moments and quotes in it. Still though... it does get repetitive after a while. When an action game can't keep my interest for more than 30 minutes at a time, I think something's not quite right.

Worth the money though.

Persona 3: I'm at the point where one of my social links with a girl means she doesn't want me around other girls. Well, my cards need levels, so she's just gonna have to deal.

Fallout 3: Just to ass around, I tried killing Dad. Missiles fucking slid past him. It's only because he's voiced by Liam Neeson.

And then it was NOOOOOOOOO! when he dies. "No! You can't kill my dad! He's Liam Neeson!" And I honestly believe if he'd been voiced by a lesser speaker, I wouldn't have felt anything for his death besides surprise.

I think you actually HAVE to do that at least once or twice if you want to get all your social links to max. It's much more forgiving in Persona 4, as you can do it in a new game plus, where you carry over your social attributes (Your courage, Knowledge, and expression) and then no longer need to factor them into your time table.

3 has New Game+ too.

Did the original version have it or only FES? Meh... I never beat it anyway. I got up to the final boss, fought through 12 of his 13 forms, and then had some get confused and Full Heal him. I literally shattered my controller against the wall after that one, as I had been fighting the boss for about an hour at the point. Never touched the game again after that.

I'm on PSP version, so it does.

I've heard bad things about the final boss, but I'm nowhere near it. I did have a confusion problem with the boss last night though, healing him and attacking my party. Had I not been over-leveled, it would've been bad.

I think Lucifer has the item you need to prevent confusion, so when you can, fuse him until you get a version that is "pregnant" with the item. Then fight with him until JUST BEFORE he's going to give birth to the item, go to the Velvet Room and save him in your compendium. That way you can just re-summon him after he gives you the item to get more than one. Your going to want one on ANYONE who can full heal.

And yes, the final boss fight is terrible. 13 forms, all with different attacks and weaknesses. It's definitely an endurance match.

Currently still trying to finish Drake's Fortune, GF had me start over because she's interested in seeing the game play out, but with her schedule I probably only get to play it 2-3hrs a week. Spare time still going to DCU:Online for now. Finished buying Final Fantasy XIII, mostly because I have this sick obsession with finishing every FF game that is released and attainable by me.

She was about to play through Kingdom Hearts 1, 1 1/2, 2 again but we went and looked up the series progression and it turns out that we need to get Birth by Sleep and get through that first. Nice....

You also need 358/2 Days on the DS (which is everything Roxas does before KH2), as well as RE: Chain of Memories on ether the PS2 or GBA (which is everything Sora does between KH1 and KH2).

Yes, basically that, but you should really need to play the updated versions (Final Mix, RE:, Recoded) if you want the full story of that game.

I've been poking around in Minecraft again, and am hosting a server that I hope some of my RL friends might join me on.

Dawn of War 2: Retribution.

I'm having so much fun with this game. 6 races for the campaign and even though a lot of the missions are the same, every side has a distinct feel and the dialogue is fun. The fluff text on Ork stuff is hilarious. I went through the Ork campaign first and then the Tyranids, and now I'm doing Imperial guard. It's just a lot of fun and its kept me off Dragon Age 2.

For Persona 3, print out Penguin Knight's MAX SOCIAL LINK guide from Gamefaqs. There's really no room for error if you want all the Social Links in one game. There's a different one for P3 and P3FES.

A week after trading in Oblivion for Dragon Age: Origins and I'm very happy with my choice, as is DreamGoddess since she can actually play this one as well. This is my first Bioware RPG and I'm loving all the dialogue trees, the different events. It's a lot of fun.

I heard of this game called Knights of the Old Republic. Supposed to be kind of good. Might look into that as well. :p

(We'd have bought Mass Effect a while ago, if they bothered to release it on PS3.)

Yeah, they are never releasing it on PS3. Instead, when they release ME3 on PS3, they take you through every choice that matters in the first two games to see how your game starts. Honestly, I'd like that option myself on 360, if only so I don't need to buy Mass Effect 1 & 2 to get the special events.

Then I guess I'm not playing the Mass Effect games until I get a decent gaming computer (either I learn to save more money or hey, taxes 2012...) Just getting to make the choices is not the same as being in the moment, playing your version of the character, and making those choices. I can see why it'd be a big deal to have to port it, but for my tastes, they might as well not have bothered with the latter games if they weren't going to start from the beginning.

They couldn't start from the beginning, they were under an exclusive contract with Microsoft, which prevented them from releasing on the PS3. The contract is up, so your getting it now.

No, no, I meant starting by releasing Mass Effect when that contract ended, rather than tacking an intro on ME2 or a choices section on ME3. Unless that contract just holds out permanently for the first game alone.

Playing days worth of Oblivion for the past 2 weeks. Loving every second. Can't wait for Skyrim.

i'm playing Shogun 2... The game looks great but i can't seem to invest myself in it like i could with Rome or Medieval 2

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions

Basically did nothing but play this all day. It reminded me a lot of the original Spider-Man game for PS1 back in the day (in a good way). And for the most part, I really dug it. Fun story and the multiple settings wasn't really necessary, but it lead to a lot of fun moments with different interpretations of villains. My favourite levels were probably Scorpion 2099, Sandman and Carnage and most definitely Deadpool.

My biggest beef, I guess, was how you were hampered sometimes from just wall crawling or webslinging freely. For example, the burning building part was stupidly frustrating because of how badly designed it was.

Personally, I'm of the opinion Spidey works best in a sandbox game, like Spider-Man 2 or Ultimate Spider-Man. A lot of the elements they introduced in this game, like the stealth and such could easily be incorporated all together as one Spidey. Then again, if it was a New York sandbox, we wouldn't have gotten all the varied fun levels.

So yeah, overall, really dug it. If I can find it cheap to buy (like $10), I'll likely get it.

Most charming and original game I've played in a good long while. HIGHLY recommended.

Played an hour or so of Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and got way, way, WAY too scared to continue.

Ima gonna have nightmares tonight.

I have been logging a ridiculous amount of time playing Mount and Blade Warband lately. I just keep coming back to it after playing through other games.

Still playing Oblivion, though I'm rounding the bends to the end:

Currently the Arch-Mage of the Mages Guild, Gray Fox of the Thieves Guild, Divine Crusader of the Knights of the Nine, Madgod of the Court of Madness, Listener of the Dark Brotherhood, Arena Grand Champion and working on the Fighters Guild ranks at the moment. After that's done, all that will be ahead of me is the main storyline....

Sam & Max Season 3: The Devil's Toybox

I've been a big fan of Telltale since the first season of Sam & Max. It's amazing how far they've come both in terms of size/sales, but also quality. The latest season, while not quite as enjoyable as Season 2, was a hell of a lot of fun. There were times I was laughing so hard I had to put the controller down.

Most of the puzzles were pretty easy to figure out. I had the clues option turned on, so occasionally, I'd get a reminder to do something. Most times, I'd already figured it out and I'd be like 'I know, I know. I'm on it!"
