Silly me, I didn't realize that all of that is just crazy birther conspiracy.
hint, 2 of the items Zappit mentioned were/are legitimate concerns and speak of the character of a man. Can you guess which two?
Here's how I read it:
The first point is racist (Oooh! He's has a terrorist sounding name!). The second one is probably the only one that didn't have to do with race. The third one goes back to the racism (Oooh! His firebrand pastor means Obama wants to start a race war/oppress white people/whatever). The last one is even more obvious.
I'm pretty sure Zappit was talking about racist douchebags in the country, not all people who dislike Obama. They tend to give more rational complaints relating to policy.

What the hell is wrong with politicians? If you did some dodgey like dodge the draft, or seduce an intern, or use drugs, COME CLEAN ABOUT IT. Hiding it only makes you look guilty when it inevitably comes to light. Honestly, most Americans don't give a shit about this stuff until you hide it.
At the very least you shouldn't base your entire campaign on accusing someone else of lying about their past and accusing them of being un-American, all the while hiding some embarrassing skeletons in your own closet. I know hypocrisy is par for the course with these guys, but to do it on such an epic scale as this makes you into little more than a joke.
Or who voted against McCain because he was old... but even then no one actually brought up the fact that he was born in Panama...
EDIT: And if i wanted to be accurate i'd say that it's "as many people got out and bothered to vote because of Obama's race"... because let's be honest, none of those people would have voted Republican in the 1st place.
I remember the good old days when releasing his Long Form Certificate of Live Birth was the biggest news to come out of his administration...

I've always said this was a dead end road to go down. Such a colossal waste of time and energy these people have inflicted upon us all. I do wonder why it took so long, but it seems to me if I remember correctly, Obama would still have been a natural born citizen even if he HAD been born in Kenya, since he had a parent who was a US citizen who had lived in the US for at least 10 years.
Really, there's plenty of other reasons to oppose Obama's presidency, without trying to delve into technicalities or putting on the tinfoil hats.

I suspect it took so long because:
1) From the state of Hawaii's perspective, it would be like showing a gov-agency your driver's license to prove who you are after you showed them your passport with its verifiable barcode and picture.
2) The serious conspiracy nuts would never have believed it anyway. I still don't know why he bothered in the first place.
