What are you playing?

God of War III. Never played the first two. It seems like you're playing the villain, but I suppose I'll have to get the trilogy and play it through. This has to be the second best graphics I've seen in a PS3 game (first being uncharted 2). The artists do a good job of pulling you into the places. Dead people falling into Hades is just plain creepy. On the negative side, this feels like one of those games where you're not really playing so much as spectating. You push buttons, but it kind of feels like you're suggesting rather than commanding the protagonist. I'll give a more complete opinion as I play more. I've just beaten Hades, and returned to Olympus.

Once my tax return comes in I might get Kingdoms of Amalur, the demo was a fun 3rd person hack/slash, even though the camera is kinda wonky.
I fought with the camera for the whole demo. Might not be an issue in the full game. From what I heard the demo was made by a third-party, and carved out of code that was from months before the game went gold. There are lots of bugs and problems in the demo that shouldn't be present in the full game.

Ehhhhh... sort of. He was an anti-hero who had been wronged in the first one, and in the second one he was slighted (after being an ass) and took his revenge too far. It's a toss up. I think pretty much every character in GoW (aside from Athena) is an asshole and deserves what they get coming to them.

I logged over 600hrs during my L4D2 days. I wasn't a big fan of the first one, but L4D2 VS mode? I actually played next to no WoW for months to a year because of L4D2 and TF2.

Single Player Campaign or even Co-Op? I'll pass.
And all the different versions of multiplayer? Fantastic. Loved their "MP of the week". The MP community was evil indeed. I think my favorite times were when I played Infected. But the ridiculous amount of rage quitters made good games hard to find.

I still found COOP games on Hard or Insane mode pretty fun, especially when you ran it with a good team of friends.

If you ask me, ragequitting should be punished by taser to the crotch. It's the modern equivalent of kicking the chessboard when you realize you're going to lose.

Finished Heavy Rain again.

I thought I got the best possible ending the first time, but I think Norman comes out better if you accuse Blake of being the Origami Killer. No cops at the warehouse, and one hell of an intense chase scene. I figured going through again was just going to be the same experience, or a new turn of the ending, but holy crap, we were on the edge of our seats again like it was the first time... which it was, for this turn of events.

I think next time we'll try to get one of the killer's endings.[/spoilers]

I must be the only person who didn't mind playing left 4 dead solo, but I do have to admit it's even more fun playing it with friends.
I played it solo quite a bit before I started playing co-op. Solo is enjoyable enough, but co-op is like "omgomgomg"

Co-Op is the way to play. I still remember the game I played with Shego, where I ended up gunning another player down because he was leading a Tank to the escape boat. Good times.

Yeah, I was quite proud of that moment too ;)

Was it you that I had to headshot during Dark Canival's finale or was that another HFer?

HEY! I was in that game and I watched this happen with a front row view.

People crying out loud to HURRY THE FUCK UP
The black girl switches to her sniper rifle.
People crying out loud again to HURRY THE FUCK UP
The black girl nudges closer to the door.
I CAN'T!!! I'M TRYING!!!

BANG

Elis goes down.... his third time... an automatic kill.

The rest escape.

Laugh and Check Dominating stats once again.

Okay, so I started Dead Space, but shamefully abandoned it when I saw I could get Bioshock 2 for nine bucks on Amazon. I'm once again deeply engrossed in Rapture, and it's once again wonderful, but I have a question for the group: has anyone here committed to the DLC, and if so, was it worth it?

The Minerva DLC is worth it. It's a short stand alone story that feels more like Bioshock than Bioshock 2.

Picked up Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Played the first hour of it, or so, and I've just arrived in Constantinople and finished the first tower defense minigame.

It's still Assassin's Creed, for good or ill. More good than ill, for me, since I love this series. Revisiting Masyaf in the new, higher-definition game engine was interesting. However, that early wagon sequence sucked ass, and whoever designed it should be banned from game development.

Also...
Noooooo! Lucy!!!!!

I've started playing Mount and Blade again. Which means that I have stopped playing all other games, have abandoned personal hygiene, and only remember to eat when the hunger pains overwhelm me. I also use a diaper now.

I love Mount and Blade. I have a game that's been going on forever as I'm having trouble expanding my own personal empire. Cities keep exchaning hands every few days. I WILL be king damn it!

I also have The Lost Coast. Am I supposed to be playing that before Ep2? *clueless*
Lost Coast is a side-"story" that doesn't fit into the overall storyline. You can play it any time, or not at all, (it came out between HL2 and Ep1, I think). It was a map made to show of HDR rendering and the commentary system. It's not much in the way of gameplay, but it's got some nice tech demonstrations in the commentary mode.

Way belated, BUT...

Just finished co-op Portal 2 with Nate!! So fun! (We bought it for Valentines.) He's beaten the game on 1 player, working on the platinum trophy now. I'll start my own game soon. And I'm kind of pleasantly surprised at myself, I'm normally TERRIBLE at FP games, maybe I can finally branch out into FPS without getting sick.

Also, I've been playing Tomb Raider Anniversary, which I'm surprised I'm having as much fun as I am. It really is the same, almost verbatum, of the original Tomb Raider. The additions though and the graphics totally make it worth while for me.

More like Team Fortress Impostors. AMIRIGHT!? ;)
Actually, they took what was great about Team Fortress 2 (light hearted style, distinctive classes) and mashed it together with what was great about COD (persistant leveling, modding, playstyle customization) and put it together into a delightful 15.00 game.

I'm pretty sure you'd love it Shego.
