What are you playing?

I have all the DoW games, including the Retribution expansion, and the story in all of those games was minimal at best. I loved the DoW games, which is why I hate the fact that both that game and C&C went the route of basically all armies of Hero units.

By the way, what's your take on Supreme Commander 2? I never really played through 1, mostly because at the time my computer couldnt handle it. I eventually played all of Supreme Commander 2, believe it or not, on Xbox 360 and I enjoyed it. I was also always a big fan of Total Annihilation. I heard a lot of people put down SC2 as inferior to SC1 citing less units or certain changes in gameplay.
At launch, SC2 was a massively disappointing experience. They completely changed the economy paradigm from pay-as-you-go to all-paid-up-front, massively nerfed experimentals, made the maps smaller, and abandoned iterative tech upgrades for a third type of self-generated resource called "research" that you spent in a tree.

It wasn't the worst RTS I'd ever played, but it sure as hell wasn't supreme commander. I hear they've patched some of that in the meantime, but I'm already too soured on it to give it another chance. If you want to experience the best RTS ever released, get Supreme Commander:Forged Alliance. While technically an "expansion" of the first SC, it is standalone.

Well, might as well give it a go. Havent played a good RTS in a while. 2007 is a bit dated, but good games tend to stand the test of time.

Buggy in what way? I never had a problem.
Nothing quite worked like it was supposed to. Guns ether did too much damage or way, way too little... game would think you had followers you didn't... quests wouldn't trigger. At launch is was awful. You really need the fan patch to fix a lot of it.

I've been playing Mount and Blade Warband, Supreme Commander and the first Mass Effect.

Gas, I wish I could have you over for a LAN party to play some marathon Supreme Commander :D.

Also, I love Sins of a Solar empire... especially playing the extra large maps. I only ever finished one... I think it took about 20 hours to complete lol.

WoW: Just dinged my 9th lvl 85. Cripes I'm dying for Mists to hit.
TF2: Every day I'm sniping /lmfao

So for my single player game I decided on Mass Effect. I own 1 and 2, we'll see what the price on 3 is when I finish up. Sadly I couldn't recreate Shegokigo Shepard exactly from my first play through but I got close enough. Initially an Infiltrator I'm going Vanguard for this. It's pretty interesting combining Biotics with Combat. It's early so what I'm doing is "Throwing" one target, then Barrier'ing up, rushing in deep and unloading my shotgun on everything near me. It's pretty fun so far.

I really want to get into X³:TC,but the learning curve is sooooo freaking steep.Just installed it for the 3rd time and it still makes me want to pull my hair out.

Can't wait for tales for Shegs Shep and her romance adventures.

I'm still putting off playing 12....
I've gotten a little over halfway through it. When I hit Phon Coast for the first time the game ramps up in difficulty and I got tired of grinding for LP and Gil, plus playing catch-up with the backup characters. I did some of the hunts but those get stupid hard too. the mobs take waaaaaaaaaaaay too long to kill (the last hunt has over 50 million hp).

I wandered around the ship quite a bit before actually getting anywhere. I also talked to everyone! But only once. No more talking to people 3 times, expecting different things to happen... :D
Easter Egg : If you talk to Wrex in ME1 when he's on the ship and only click on Goodbye the moment you start conversation with him 10-12 times, a hidden cutscene starts.

Yep, the most famous squad member-related cutscene in ME1. The equivalent of Mordin's Gilbert and Sullivan scene in ME2, I'd say.

You exaggerate. Mordin's cutscene is the best. The Wrex one second best and despite the bad ending in ME3, the Ashley poetry reading cutscene in the entertainment room in front of the squad and James suddenly coming up and saying a verse of his own? I dunno man.

My Advice? Don't bother with your back-ups until your at max level and filled the boards of your mains. Even at low levels you'll have plenty of time to use a phoenix down on one of your mains. Also, ALWAYS have a Golden Amulet and an Embroided Tippet on your characters at all times until they max the their levels/license boards. You will level at an astounding rate and be maxed board long before the end of the game.

Benn playing X³ and finaly got the hang of it after reading countless how to's and watching a couple of let's plays.
Got a dozend Freighters running the sector selling goods, a couple distilleries and weed farms and i still havent seen more then 1/20 of the universe.

Yeah I think I have 5/6 Golden Amulets, the only time I trade them out is on bosses for immunities and for a Gauntlet on Basch (he's my tank) until the boss is about to die. I'm not sure I've gotten any Tippets yet, I'd have to open the game up and check, been a couple months. I actually enjoy the Gambit thing a bit more now than I did back when I first played, I think my only issue all in all is keeping up in Gil for upgrades (I do try to have people steal from everything I fight, which tends to make grinding take a lot longer).

I have tried multiple times to get through this game, but once you get good gambits going, it just becomes running around until you aggro and then everything goes on autopilot.

Also, I'm sick of FF games giving you these characters to get all levelled up and then removing them from your party. I had Prunelo all levelled up as a healer then BAM, gone from the party. I know this is par for the course ever since, like, 6 but it's just really gotten to me with that series.

Playing Left 4 Dead 2 on the only machine I'm able to play it, the Xbox 360, with the only people available on the system, jerks.

I'm not having fun. :(

I think I'll go read a book.

I know this thread is all video games and such, but I'm going to expand it a bit. On to board games!

Mr. Jack pocket version. I finally won a game against my wife, who's been kicking my butt every time we play.
Also been playing 7 Wonders, Elder Sign, and quite a few others once a week at my cousin's place.

I recently got Warhammer 40K: Space Marine and it's some good "God of War set in the Warhammer universe" fun, but haven't played that much of it yet.

I've also been playing the hell out of Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes.

When I first got it, I was like, "what the shit is this?" Now I can't get enough of it.

It's entirely different than the original on the SNES, but that's not a bad thing. It's much more like the rest of the series, but with expanded plot.
Pretty much this Frank . It's a remake of Ys III, but in an isometric style instead of side-scrolling. It's totally worth it, imo, I loved (and own) the SNES version, but this plays like a dream and it's challenging as fuck. If you want a good adventure RPG, I really recommend picking this up. Fair warning, though, much like the JRPGs of yore it has some of those "how would I have known about these treasures/sidequests without a guide" moments, so don't be afraid to follow a walkthrough or FAQ.

The one word of warning I'd have about the remake is that the bosses can be reminiscent of a bullet hell shooter. Survival is all about positioning.

Everything has been put on hold for Skyrim.

However, it is to be noted I am about 4hrs into a fresh ME1 playthrough, WoW is on complete hold till Panderia, TF2 is on undetermined hold, Darksiders has been purchased from Amazon and should be arriving in a few days. $7.00 for it seemed like a damn good deal.
