[Rant] Minor Rant III: For a Few Hollers More

I wish! It's more work than I want to do though. I have one kid who loves being in the water, but can't swim. The other one wants nothing to do with the water. And having Mr. Hobble-Along on crutches doesn't make for an easy time at the beach either. I'd like to go ALONE.

I think that the donations mean that it's reasonable to boycott them if you feel strongly enough about it. But imo there are enough companies who have equally bad policies/stances and chick-fil-a makes a much better product. I'll boycott the other guys before I boycott them.

I can't boycott them because I never eat there anyway - I like the taste just fine, but it always seemed to me that it was more expensive than the food merited.

I can't boycott because there is not one that is accessible to me here. I am not that fond of the taste, but I get the what the hell face each time I am given the total.

I quit eating there a few years ago when we were still in CA because, as Gared said, it was made public then that the company supported anti-gay marriage legislation. There are none here in HI so I can't really say I'm boycotting them now. I can live without their chicken sandwiches or nuggets. Plenty of other places that can clog my arteries around here.

Just to check, are you suggesting that there's a chance that a deep fried hunk-o-chicken isn't greasy? I mean, if I've been misinformed and they're broiling everything then there you go, but I'm pretty sure "deep fried" and "greasy" are acceptable synonyms that this point. ;)
The use pressure fryers to cook and it doesn't just sit in there, never had a greasy sandwich or nuggets from them. Same cannot be said for KFC, Popeye's, Church's or Tinsley's that I've had.

Not Chuck's alt, ever ever ever. I disagree with someone posting a "fact" about some food that they've never tried themselves. Personal peeve of mine.

I'm crying right now. Every time I try to explain why it comes out so stupid, so I'll just leave it at that. I'm having a hard time with something.

Cajungal It happens that way, sometimes. No need to explain...

I have just stepped on a very large, very precarious landmine... time will tell if it goes boom, or if it's a dud. But I really... REALLY don't like this feeling...

--EDIT--

I should clarify that this is work-related, NOT home-related.

You haven't eaten there, but you "know" that it's a "greasy" sandwich. So, so wrong.

Don't care if you disagree with the owner, it's your right, but disagree with your saying something about food you haven't had.

I...

wha?

It's a fried chicken sandwich. Really? You're offended because I used greasy as an adjective to describe a fried chicken sandwich in a pejorative way to undermine the movement? Newsflash: I don't care about the food quality. That's not the point I was trying to make at all. Maybe it should be? A lot of Americans either hate gay people, or they really love chicken sandwiches. Or they hate that gay people are threatening their delicious, palatable, pristine, made from the meat of a golden chicken and could never-ever ever be greasy, chicken sandwich.

FLY WATCH 2012

I have killed the stupid fly, and so now this dish cloth I swatted it out of the air with is my new favourite thing.
You are a god among men, sir. My office has constantly being plagued this week by at least one evil fly that shows no mercy. While the stupid thing buzzed around our heads at a staff meeting, my boss even offered free frozen yogurt to whoever could kill it. No success. You have my admiration, Senor Hat.

Hey I just noticed your Zoltan Darkaudit. I see Pirates fans everywhere doing that. What's the inside joke?
Neil Walker was watching "Dude, Where's My Car?", and started flashing the Zoltan sign to his teammates. It caught on from there, especially after Barajas hit a big walk-off home run vs the Nats. Now they're all doing it after big hits, and the town has followed suit.

They even had Hal Sparks throw out the first pitch at a game a couple weeks ago. :D

Haha that's awesome. I'm so glad the Pirates have a good season for a change. My Phils... ugh..

Every night I leave my work PC on, Avast adds 100 megabytes to its private bytes. Every 24 hours, my work PC (which has only 2 gigs of ram to begin with) needs 100 megabytes more to sit idle with nothing else open. In a week of chipping away at my ram, AVAST eventually takes 500 or 600 megs (it starts around 30k). I can't figure out why and my google fu has failed me, a rare occurrence. It just keeps bloating up, and up, and up. The only thing that puts it back to normal is a reboot.

I hate rebooting this machine... I'm always in the middle of 9 things and have to save and close them all then start them all back up after rebooting.

NNAAGHHH!

Is your program version equal to or greater than 7.0.1456 ?

Reportedly, there was a memory leak problem in versions previous to that, which came out at the beginning of last month. (ref)

I am using 7.0.1456, yes. Ironically enough, this didn't start to really be a problem for me until just last month.

The store ran out of the only decent veggie frankfurters, so I had to try a new kind. Once again, a lot of companies who make these things are under the impression that hot dogs taste like Slim Jims. Blech.
