I refuse to spend my own money on virus protection for my company's computers, and they apparently do as well. But were I to buy, NOD32 would be where I would go for sure. (Note to audience, Eset = Nod32)
As it is, I'm looking at MS Security Essentials, when I get a round tuit.
Well... heard back from that illustration job. didn't get it. On the bright side they said they liked my stuff, and want to work with me in the future, possibly before the new year. Just not on this contract (I guess my style isn't right for this one). Good to hear, but "Sometime in the future" doesn't help me pay the bills now. Time is running out, I need to find a job soon or I might not be able to afford rent and student loan payments in October.

I hate child abusers.
I cna only classify that as minor in a punny way, and it isn't really much of a rant either. While I agree that child molesters are, on the whole, bad people and I don't exactly like them...Why post this here?

I've been spending the last two months preparing a Pathfinder campaign for a group of friends. Last week I spent a whole lot of time on the computer writing a "crash course" on the campaign setting - lands, gods, history, the works.
Today I hear from the group that the person who was supposed to play our tank is not coming, because of some dumb-as-shit argument she had with some of the other players (we're all friends and acquaintances) - an argument that involved a quip made four months ago, her dad making threatening messages and herself cutting all ties. Which pretty much explains why this smiling, positive, intelligent young woman whom I figured for a very nice person overall has not been answering a single call, text or e-mail in the past three weeks.
Fuckin' hell.
Still gonna run the campaign, but I feel disappointed. Why is it that every young, eligible woman whom I find interesting and funny turns out to be batshit crazy at some level? Seriously, what the fuckin' fuck?

Kittehs have absolutely shredded the underside cover of my mom's box springs. To the point where there isn't support for them to go and hide in there anymore.
I feel better this morning.
After spending a few hours at it last night I couldn't get it repaired. I ended up propping the whole thing up with a few books....only to have another part collapse.
I'm going to call the furniture place later and see if there's any warranty. If not, Im going to pick up a few heavy, wooden shipping pallets and use those. It's a platform bed so there is no box spring any more.

I've had some weird red, inflamed, lumpy skin thing under my right arm for a few days now. I thought it might've been some allergic reaction or just a slight skin irritation gone bad, but antihistamine and fucidin (anti-coagulant or something?) don't seem to make any difference, and it's still spreading. Now my whole armpit is swollen up and pressing on my ribs, making it painful to breathe. Off to the doctor's it is, I guess

Careful, sometimes pallets are treated with chemicals. Look for a stamp on the side; if it has the code MB, don't use it, it's been treated with methyl bromide. If there's no stamp, it might be best to leave it as it's of unknown provenance.If not, Im going to pick up a few heavy, wooden shipping pallets and use those. I think if you get enough of them to cover the whole underside of the mattress, the weight being distributed would probably make it fine. Of course, then your bedroom looks like a frat boy lives there. You just need an empty keg discarded nearby and a giant empty wooden "spool" for the coffee table and the ensemble is complete.

Well, I will say it'd be cheaper and easier to replace individual structural members as they wear out...
Indeed they are, and each is built to contain about 15kg of milk and be slung around for years. Unless that bedroom gets hot enough to melt 'em, they should work just fine...except for the things Gas mentions, of course.
Keep in mind I'm recommending the ones made for actual service, and NOT the ones you get from the office supply store for hangin file folders. Those are much easier to collapse.

As an aside, I've seen those things individually support over 200lb for extended periods with only minor sagging. If spread evenly across as few as 5 of them in a quincunx pattern, that bed should not have any issues (other than the possibility of them sliding around under the platform).
I'd like to keep the structure of my bed though. It's a platform bed, you see, so the problem comes from the face that the metal inside the siderails of the bed just completely ripped away from it. I can reattach but now it won't support any weight on the slats. I've been cobbling with it on and off all day now with no promising results. I have a few milk crates around..but they are too high for the plat form bed and look terrible.
So, I don't mean to shoot you down, but I'm looking for something, uh, pretty.

A nice bedskirt can hide a lot of things...

Pretty is certainly doable, but it would take longer.

The bed skirt would go under the platform, on top of the crates. Be like a little curtain to keep the boogie men in plenty of shade.
