Funny Pictures Thread. It begins again

Sounds like a place I want to visit :(
It's great, seriously. Biggest aquarium in southeast Asia, in terms of square footage. And the mall itself is pretty decent too. And there are like five other malls nearby, all with their own specialties and feels.

Just, uh, just try to ignore the fact that there was a bombing there a few days ago.

Did it cause the escalators to flood and end in a shark-infested pool? No? ;)

And that would be a sad face because my next 3 years or so of long-distance trips are already planned out. May, Mexico. January, New Zealand. Winter of 2016-2017, Sweden/Finland. And after that, we'll see, but quite probably "kids so no more long distance trips", damn you biological clock of girlfriends! :p

I read that the shark one was a Photoshop job, and a very convincing one. The experts who examined the image, and who sought out the actual mall, gave particular praise to the ripples in the water, which is one of the most difficult effects to render realistically.

That guy who's floating in the air, that's a common magician's trick. The staff is attached to a metal plate in the ground and he has an iron strip that usually comprises the entire right arm going from the staff to a seat that he can sit on once it's planted in the staff. He has his right arm tucked under the robe.

Sometimes I feel like people have me on ignore or something :(
(Bowielee provided a video though, I found the video but it was Unavailable in my country so wasn't sure it was the proper one)

Hey, did you guys know that the levitating guy is a common magician's trick? There's just a plate under the carpet and a rod running up his sleeve. He's just sitting.

Really? Fascinating. Tell me more! Do you have any proof, perhaps a video or some such?

Bad news, everyone. I've just learned from outside sources that the "levitating guy" picture is, in fact, just a trick with a plate under the carpet and a rod running up his sleeve to give him something to sit on. I know all of you are as shocked and dismayed as I am.

Hey, guys, guess what? I've just discovered that there are ways to run a joke completely into the ground, usually with some sort of metal plate to support it.

I debated whether to put this here or in "not funny." Gallows humor won out.

SAS is a swedish airline. Perhaps this video was not the optimal place to put that ad.

(22 people died in that plane crash)

I thought that was Trans Asia airline, or are they part of the same?
EDIT: nevermind. I reread what you wrote and realized what part you were talking about
Not that it's making me feel better about flying to Taiwan in a few months, or recognizing that road, having been on it last time we were there.

I've got a couple friends who were from Ft. McMurray originally - one lives in Calgary, the other in Medicine Hat now. The stories they've told me about the West Edmonton Mall make it seem a magical place, along the same lines as the Mall of America...
I've been to both Mall of the Americas (or whatever the hell it's called) and West Ed. And West Ed destroys it. MUCH better.

And this is even with my born-in anti-Edmonton bias, being originally from Calgary. Even with THAT West Ed still wins.

I was honestly really confused untill I suddenly realised I was thinking of the National Mall and not the Mall of America. Bunch of people with unclear naming conventions.
