New Picture Thread

Switched offices a couple of weeks ago. Shuffling people around to reflect the reality of the org chart and all that. Me and the Operations Manager finally got our own offices again (it's been 2 or 3 years since I last had my own private office here). Since I was getting a new office and had the space, I got myself a new workstation setup. :D

FOUR MONITORS. SO JELLY

I need them, too. I was constantly having to alt-tab around to flip screens up between the two monitors while trying to debug code.
Actually, I really only need 3 (sql server, code, output). But that would look silly. So I use one for emails

I've used 3, 4 and 6 monitors, and I have to say I prefer three side-by-side over 4 in a rectangle like that. I mean, more screen real estate is always good, but 4 means more neck pain.

Most I've ever used is 2, mainly because of space issues. Oh, and the fact that I don't own that many monitors.

When I took the job I am working now, they left me alone in a room full of hardware. I was the first in the office to have 3 monitors. I started an arms race.

Two 27” 4K monitors (equivilant to eight 1080p monitors) works ok for me. I don’t like too much vertical height, and my eyes with glasses are still good enough to read tiny type on them, so both my main workstations (different offices/clients) have that configuration now.

I have not been able to achieve a comfortable sitting position at the computer in the last several months - and it's getting incredibly painful.

Where is the pain? I was dealing with persistent lower back pain, but it's gone away since switching to a kneeling chair (would've been a yoga ball, but I was worried about the cats clawing at it).

This might be the last one of these I get to post, but good old Doc Severin came to visit Omaha again. We gave him a send-off by taking him to that Omaha favorite - Applebee's. (It was the only thing open unless we went to a Perkins or Denny's, but they don't serve alcohol.)

He's no longer going to be jumping so he may not be back. Love ya, man. Hope to see you again as soon as possible.

My upper back, shoulders and neck. I tried the yoga ball thing, but that just killed my hips and ass-bones. What I should do is pay for an actual computer chair and an actual computer desk, because the Ikea folding table my in-laws bought 20+ years ago just isn't a good height for a desk, but it's what we've got to work with. The computer chair I paid 60 bucks for last year, but it's already falling apart.
