Hello, Canada! Your Costco in Victoria is very much like ours. I like the poutine and and clucks and fries.

I'm no fan of Trudeau, but I'm genuinely afraid of what the country will become if the Conservatives get power. We can say goodbye to so much progress. The Conservative government is realizing that the anti-Trudeau sentiment federally is giving them totally free reign to be as corrupt as they want without risking their re-election chances. The normal (barely present) attempt to disguise their corruption and contempt for voters is just gone now. The environment, cultural landmarks like the Science Centre and Ontario Place, provincial health care are all in the process of being dismantled to line the pockets of the rich elite and the cronies of Doug Ford and his crew.
It's awful, and it's going to get worse because voters are putting blame everywhere except on the people actually hurting them.
I thought MAYBE things might turn for the better when Olivia Chow was elected Toronto mayor, since she holds a lot of progressive ideals. But being mayor of one of the biggest cities in the country doesn't amount to much, I guess.Seeing BC swing conservative gives me absolutely zero hope that the country isn't going to do the same. My only real hope is that the swing back after they start fucking everything up for all of us is fast enough that there's something left to salvage.
I genuinely don't think it's going to be possible for Ontario to bounce back on a lot of fronts. Things are going to stay worse than they were. It's just a matter of how much damage is done for the Cons get voted out.
