Holy shit that looks rad!
That LOOKS okay... but we got basically no plot details out of that trailer. Like... what is the movie about?
That's actually not a bad thing.
A visually splendid and probably mostly braindead Luc Besson sci-fi joint. I'm totally cool with that.
Fifth Element is still watchable today.

Not gonna lie, I always skip through those parts of trailers.
I only watched the original movie and this seems to be going with a different plot. Is this Stand Alone Complex or a new thing?
It sounds like the plot might be drawing basis from the second season of Stand Alone Complex, considering one of the film's producers has said that they'll be using Hideo Kuze as the villain.
They seem to be drawing from a mish-mash of the material. The Geisha thing is clearly from Season 1 of SAC. The fight in the water is from the first movie. And yes, Kuze is SAC season 2.[DOUBLEPOST=1479051533,1479051500][/DOUBLEPOST]
They seemed to have edited them out in a later scene.

No mention of the Individual 11 though... wonder how that will work. Maybe it is just about a conspiracy in the companies performing the cyberization process itself, and Kuze's plotline has been altered to be about that instead of the Individual 11.
Yeah, pretty much everything about NotBatou there is off. And I mean, to do the eyepieces right, you really need to build up the area around eyes more, make them look sunken in. This basically looks like they took some goggles, split them up, painted them silver, and tacked them off with spirit gum.
Edit: Okay watching again in full screen in higher res, they look a little better, but still, everything about the character just seems wrong. Age, size, physical presence... Ron Perlman in Pacific Rim was a better Batou than this looks to be.

I wasn't expecting to care much about this version, but uh, wow. It looks pretty impressive.
I don't see the point of this. The animated film is already brilliant. This looks like a beat-for-beat retread. Even some of the shots look like they're straight from the original movie.
Think I'll pass and just enjoy watching the animated film again.
