Please. Conservative Christians will know exactly who the Oath Keepers are and what they do, and still get upset. They don't have to mistake them for anyone else to feel "attacked" by Twitter... they've already hitched their horse up to that particular wagon.

I've never heard of the Oath Keepers, and I used to frequent a very conservative Christian forum. There are a lot of people in conservative Christian churches who are genuinely unaware of how connected to white nationalism conservative Christianity is on a government level. They parrot a lot of the same talking points, and are part of the problem, but a lot of them are still in denial about the dog whistles. They don't think they're allied with the KKK, et al. If there's going to be any progress in this country, there has to be a realization that there's a wide range of people who are involved in conservative Christianity. Not all conservative Christians are Evangelicals, nor are all Evangelicals Fundamentalist, (in fact there are some anti-Trump Evangelicals who vocally object to being lumped in with the Fundamentalists who do support Trump). I know it might seem like most Christians are lock step in line with Nazis, but it's absolutely not true. There are still more viewpoints in American Christianity than there are denominations. And there are still a lot of them who don't follow politics, don't watch Fox or OANN, and have no clue about what's going on other than what they've been told by fanatical peers.
Heck, I've heard of the Oath Keepers. Maybe that's just because I used to work alongside a 0.03'er.

If only there were some security video of some kind to end all the speculation once and for all. Video from the apartment complex itself, for instance. Assuming it wasn't misplaced or taped over somehow, that is.

So, it looks like the people of Portland have chosen to become martyrs to the cause. After a week of no protests because of the fires and smoke hazards, everyone has turned on everyone else. Mutual aid groups are trying to out each other as fascist supporting assholes without any proof, because someone they read something about on Twitter somewhere said something along those lines at some point. Forget the fact that you've spent literally 6 to 10 hours a day with these people every day for the last four months, this rumor from this one person this one time MUST be more accurate, so fuck the medics who are running the fire relief campaign, they're not one of us anymore, they offered aid to the children of republican voters during the fire evacuations (yes people have actually said this). I've been labeled a stalker because I know a member of the press corp by twitter handle - don't know a single god damn thing aside from that, her gender, and the fact that she's a lying, victim playing psychopathic cunt - but I know that much and I know her rep and therefor, I must be a stalker and a rapist. Not because she stands right fucking next to one of the members of the press whose stream I used to coordinate with, no! It's because I'm a cis het male, that means I'm a rapist and a stalker and I should just stop talking because if cis het men wanted things to get better, they'd shut up and kill themselves already (yes, people have said that too). So, yeah, Portland is going to find itself in one hellacious world of hurt next time they try protesting and all of the mutual aid groups are there, but there's no one to coordinate them all because I've been "outed" as a rapist.

I assume this means your opponents have changed gears from "conquer" over to "divide." Seems like it's super effective.
I don't know what to tell you about combating it, though. These people are waging a literal campaign to find and exploit all the suspicions and uncertainties of every American in order to weaken and further destabilize our country, and are doing so on such a massive scale that it's fairly obvious they have the resources of an entire nation state behind them. You can try to immunize them against it by training them to expect the propaganda, but you're going up against people with much greater experience and resources. I'm not saying it's hopeless, but unless you can get your folks to really beef up their critical thinking ability, somebody's going to find a way to sneak in and mash all their panic buttons and then they're going to bolt and/or try to undermine you.
If you're seen as a leader/organizer, their effort to inject panic into your mind to destabilize you OR to sow doubt among your peers is going to be even stronger. Sounds like it's working. Focus on your goals and how to achieve them. Figure out what steps you need to take, put a plan in place to accomplish them, and follow it. Don't bite off more than you can chew, of course. And try real hard not to let those bastards get you down. The battle right now is less like D&D or Might and Magic and more like Darkest Dungeon. It's not as much about how strong your party is as much as it is about how they can resist attacks on their sanity and morale. Panicked people look to a leader to keep them strong. If you're going to be that guy, that means you're gonna have to hold it together in public all the time, and yes, that means you're going to have to be careful about what language you choose to use, especially in "permanent" media like here where your opponents can find it, point to it later, and use it as a wedge.
Hope this helps in some small way to keep you on track. Don't let them turn your passion against you.

And now I remember why I blocked you.
It doesn't matter anymore, I've been kicked out of the protest scene in Portland, removed from all of the comms lists, and the "leaders" of the city are now announcing that they want no more outside assistance or news coverage. Remember, it's not the feds who've been breaking peoples skulls fault, it's the reporters. The protesters have now turned on each other to the point that they chase streamers away from the scene of the protest and help the cops arrest people they disagree with. We've seen multiple - seven or eight - groups of people helping the cops tackle suspects and make arrests, and one of them has been unmasked as - get this - the woman I called a CUNT. Can I call her a CUNT for helping the feds and cops arrest her comrades? Is it fair to call her a CUNT since she's a TRAITOR to the cause and has gotten at least a half dozen people brutally arrested in the last three days?
I mean - I'd like to really grab everybody by the ears hear and REALLY get through to you what is going on here. In the past month alone - 30 days - the mutual aid groups of Portland and I have spent $150,000 ($20,000 of that mine) on body armor to keep our people alive when Trump supporters come to town and the cops escort them to homeless camps to fuck up because someone on Facebook said the homeless camp was an Antifa training camp. We are geared for literal war. We are fighting a literal war. With peaceful protest. So if I call one of my enemies a dirty name - I fucking meant it to be offensive. They're literally trying to get my friends, loved ones, and I killed. If you have a complaint about my language you can think up the worst possible slur about yourself and call yourself that in my honor.
