No, YOU do the exact same thing. You argue ad-nauseum, never admit when you have hit a wall of bullshit and then continue to claim victory as though you have done something grand. But hey, you call it a victory, enjoy it. You've obviously not learned anything in the last 5 years.

Oh no! Not the .GIFs!

An armed populace is harder to suppress, whether it be by internal or external forces. This is not in dispute, nor can it ever be disputed.
Also, the vast majority of the people who committed atrocities in WWII are dead now. They are therefore beyond punishment, and we should not pile said punishment on their relatives nor countrymen solely based on proximity.

David Hooks and his wife reported a burglary. The next night, Laurens County Sheriff's Office deputies executed a search warrant for drugs based on the testimony of the burglar, who had been caught. Mrs. Hooks was heading to bed and heard a vehicle coming fast up their driveway. She looked out the window and saw a large black vehicle with no lights, disgorging "6 to 8 men" who came around the side of the house. Fearing that they were being attacked by a gang - perhaps the same group that burglarized them returning to do a home invasion - Mrs. Hooks woke up Mr. Hooks. He picked up his shotgun in order to defend himself and his wife, at which point Sheriff's deputies broke through the door. Sheriff's deputies fired on Mr. Hooks, wounding him. While he was lying face down on the floor, he suffered two more gunshot wounds, to the back of his left shoulder and the side of his head, killing him.

According the results of the subsequent 44-hour search of the premises, no contraband was found. The shotgun was also found to have no ammunition in it.

Yep. Another "no knock warrant" executed SWAT style. Why even have regular police? Just use the swat team for everything, forget the (lack of) need for escalation. Traffic stop? Tear gas grenade through the car window and drag the driver out and sit on him until you can search the car and make sure there's no guns or drugs inside! Noise complaint? APC through the front wall while armored officers with M-16s kick in the back door! Jaywalking? Taze him, take him down, zip-tie his hands behind his back and sit on him pointing your gun at anyone who comes within 50 feet until your backup arrives! Assuming the perp doesn't die before it gets there.

Yeah. THIS is what people are upset about - over-reactionary, over-militarized police using excessive force on citizens. Even ignoring the racial implications of several high profile cases, the fact that what were supposed to be police special operations units are deployed as frequently as they are - over 50,000 times per year, or 137 times PER DAY on average - shows an alarming tendancy towards maximum force instead of minimal force. I'm not against police forces having SWAT units - if you have a hostage situation or armed siege or prolonged shootout, then by all means, bring in the heavy mob. But you don't need an SUV full of armored troopers to storm a house to find $20 worth of weed. In fact, that was one of the more sickening things about that DEA reality show that was on SPIKE. They'd talk like they were going to take down a kingpin with a score of machine-gun toting bodyguards, have 3 truckloads of stormtroopers and go in with battering rams and grenades... and then they'd roll up on a ranch house with 2 people in, completely destroy the house and everything in it, and find like 1 crack pipe, between $40-$100 in cash, and like 2 tiny little baggies, one empty, the other with powder in it. They'd congratulate themselves over the "dealer" they just "took down"... then immediately make a deal with him to go after his supplier, whom they would never locate.[DOUBLEPOST=1418489850,1418489774][/DOUBLEPOST]
Homicide means that the victim died at the hands of another person.
In this case, as in many of the others discussed here, the hands of a police officer.

Yes, charging tanks with horses is stupid. However, you might also look to Finland and the USSR, in the Winter War. Guerilla actions by an outnumbered and vastly outequipped Finn defense (32 tanks vs 6500) absolutely devastated the Russians, with a 5 to 1 casualty ratio. Furthermore, an armed populace turns every house, every apartment, every church and every office building into a potential sniper nest. Every road into a potential minefield, every alley into a potential ambush.

Many "pea shooters" owned by the US Citizenry already (and legally) are more powerful than US Army standard issue. But you're missing the point - it's not to say that an armed citizenry can go toe to toe with a trained military and win, that'd be stupid - why even have a military if that were the case? No, what an armed citizenry can do is make it more costly in men, materiel, and political will to occupy/suppress a population than the occupiers are willing to spend. After all, it's how we got run out of Iraq, handing it back to a re-branded Al Qaeda.

Sigh....

Fuck you (even though it kinda proves your point on armed populace)

I will say that when I am pulled over, I set my license and registration on the dash and then keep my hands on the steering wheel at 10 and 2, so the approaching police officer knows I'm not about to try to shoot him. As a courtesy.
Don't you live in Texas? Who carries a registration?

Here in NC you're required to have a signed copy of your registration. It's a ticket if you don't, although all you have to do is provide your registration card to the clerk and it will get dismissed. The last two times I renewed my registration it was do to having gotten a ticket, I went nearly a year each time. Free morning off of work!

In MI you have to present license, registration, and proof of insurance at the time of the stop.
It was weird because if the cop went back to the car to write a ticket for not having any of these, you could get out of it if you located it by the time the cop returned...
...except for the insurance. If you did not show valid proof of insurance before the cop went back to his car, you would get a ticket even if you had managed to locate the proof by the time the cop returned.
I believe that particular infraction may no longer be a thing due to its unpopularity, but don't quote me on that.

Hell, in Texas they know if you have insurance and know your driving record when they get out of the car, or before they pull you over. Just scan the plate, and poof! a background check. Now to just match the license to the driver. And the cop has a better idea whether to let you go or not.

Texas has a window sticker that mounts inside the driver's side of the windshield that indicates your registration (inspection stickers are going away) so it's visible to anyone if your car is registered or not.
